low id on emule [Resolved]
«

I have trouble getting a high id with emule with cfw, emule states that all ports have be open in the firewall rule set,i added 1 rule in network monitor which was to allow TCP/UDP in source any, destination any.i then had a high id for a short period of time, then when i looked about 1/2 hr later i was disconnected from network and had lost most servers apart from 2.When i deleted the rule from network monitor i was back to a low id but got my servers back.I have the same rule as above but instead of TCP/UDP in it is TCP/UDP out which has been fine as when i downloaded comodo it had already done that for me.I have also noticed that now i have cancelled the rule that gave me high id in the connections port 4662 TCP in of emule it says is listening and there is no activity on that particular port, which i believe is why i have the low id
any suggestions anyone please as this is becoming a headache?

Welcome to the forum daz1971.
As Justin says you can look at the threads about setting Emule and CPF.
You can get a quick answer from me if you want to try it.
First set up your listening port in Emule. Set a high port like 54545.
Close Emule.
Open CPF and go to network monitor.
Right click on the top rule in the rules list, choose add/add before
Set it like this.
Action
: Allow
Protocol
: TCP or UDP
Direction
: In
Source IP
: Any
Destination IP
: Any
Source Port
: Any
Destination Port
: A single port : 54545
Start Emule and see if it works. Give it some time to connect.
If it doesn't work, restart CPF or reboot the PC.
Remember that the rules are read from the top, so if you want to allow something, you need to have it above the default block rule at the bottom.

You're welcome.
I'm adding resolved to the subject line and lock this thread so It wont be cluttered with posts, so other users can find and get help from this.
If you have other issues, just ask or search.
Good luck!
