2GB File Limit Removed?

In the post:
ComodoBackUp_Setup_1.0.1.10 has been released
It states that backing-up 3-4GB of data with compression is no longer a problem.
Do I understand this to mean that the 2GB file limit has been removed?
Can I truly backup such large files?
Is there still a limit to the size of the resulting archive?
Please clarify.
