Sorry for the extended absence, as I have been dealing with something called Hurricane Ike here in Houston since before its landfall early on the morning of Sept. 13.  I was without power for 16 days, but things are slowly getting back to normal here, one day at a time.

No, I loged-in directly to my Administrator account before running the batch file. It was something wrong with my Administration account because it would not have been granted a full access as an administrator. Do you know how to fix it? Thanks.

Even as an administrator on Vista, some things will be blocked due to User Account Control (UAC). You'll need to launch it by doing as described in this guide:
http://vistasupport.mvps.org/run_as_administrator.htm (it's only 5 steps, so don't panic )

Anyway, if it was only the NET STOP WINMGMT /Y-command that didn't work, it's not necessary to run the file, unless CFP still shows up in Security Center.

I do not have Comodo listed in the file to uninstall it. I could not run the repair program inthe program files. Windows tells me that Comodo is working as the only firewall but I can not set up a network. Do I have to reinstall windows/

Installed Comodo the other day as I'd heard very good reviews, but Firewall will not work or update. Have tried to un-install using various tool so that I can install a fresh installation but nothing.

Is there a way to repair the installation of the latest version? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

i found a easy way to delete the  'Legacy' registry entries

Download PsExec from http://www.sysinternals.com/utilities/psexec.html

Create a folder in your Program Files folder and name it PsExec. Place the psexec file in the folder. Create a batch file by opening Notepad and copying and pasting the following line into it :

Start "" "c:\Program Files\PsExec\psexec" -i -d -s c:\windows\regedit.exe

Save the file as PsExec Regedit.bat (the important thing is the .bat extension.)

When you click on the .bat file you've created it will open regedit in such a way that you should be able to delete the legacy keys.

I used the bat from the first post and the method pmontu posted. However there are still traces of comodo in my system. I tried to remove them with jv16 but cant get them gone! Here are the keys:

I tried everything to get rid of COMODO, as it is blocking my internet connection, and it still shows up in the security center as active, now, what do I do? For sure I will never install it again, but at least I would expect the COMODO people to show haW to uninstall it. People beware: stay away from COMODO firewall, once in your pc it will never leave you, my guess is I have to reinstall window xp all over again, nice job COMODO, maybe someone will help me out of this

I really dont get any of this, i tried updating as well it failed now a file is missing and i cant uninstall in the add/remove section(Vista 32 sp1). I dont get anything the 1st page is saying, i dont now much bout computers. Is using a third pt uninstaller the only way or is there an EASIER way of uninstalling comodo?

As you are missing a file have you tried downloading the CIS main file from Comodo if you run it should offer a option to uninstall.

This is for sded, first of all I appreciate your help, I tried doing what you suggested, but to no avail. This is what I got:

after entering RD /S /Q repository, I got the following message:

repository FS MAPPING1.MAP cannot delete file, as is being used by an application
                   MAPPING2.MAP cannot delete file as being used by an application
                   OBJECTS.DATA cannot delete file as is being used by an application
                   OBJECTS.MAP   cannot delete file as is being used by an application

I don`t have any application running in the background, unless it is referring to COMODO firewall still up and running, I still can`t access internet, as a matter of fact I am using my second operating system. Now what?
I really don`t know what more to do, probably the only solution is a complete reformat and reinstall of WIindows XP although it seems absurd, all this just for installing a firewall considered a top notch product...I really would like to talk to  the programmers of this thing, and see what is going on in their little brains when they come up with programs made do flip* up people`s systems...well, I`ll wait and see if someone had my same problem to this point, if not I`ll give up and do a complete reinstall, thanks to whoever will try and help me out

If you have had an unsuccessful uninstall, not just the security center indicator, you can try a reinstall and then an uninstall from safe mode.

Sded, again thank you, but how can I install it again? That means accessing the web, and I can`t do that, beacuse COMODO won`t let me, my internet access is blocked, it is not just a problem of the security center, my internet connection is not there...Oh well thanks anyway buddy
