Another angle: the Hosts file. The Hosts file (notice it has no extension) is a file used by an OS that will be used to look up IP addresses of url's  (socalled DNS look up).

The file can be found in x:\windows\system31\drivers\etc\. Open it with Notepad and copy paste the upper part to this topic.

It will look something like this:
Code:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
#
# Bijvoorbeeld:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # bronserver
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x clienthost

127.0.0.1       localhost
# Start of entries inserted by Spybot - Search & Destroy
127.0.0.1 www.007guard.com
As you see I am on a Dutch version of Windows XP..Wink

I think the line 127.0.0.1       localhost" may be missing.

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host
