Is there any log to find out more information? what’s wrong?

Hi

Am I the only person on earth with this problem?

Comodo made that error message only for me? ;D

Any clue? pleaaasssssseee.

I am using CB 4.3.3.19 now. but nothing changed.

Hi,

Please collect the debug logs so we can determine the cause of the problem.

Thanks

I get the same error with v4.4.1 on Win7 64bit. I’ve collected the compressed debug log and will be happy to email it since there doesn’t seem to be an “attach” button.

I have the same problem. CB 4.4.1.23 on windows7 64 bit
I would need a recovery disc with inside CB, how could I do?
Thank You.

Hi,

I just had this same problem; only I am running XP Home SP3. Please help! I’ve already tried two other backup programs (Norton Ghost and some Acronis programs) to no avail. I just want to back this thing up so I don’t have the issues I recently did when I had to reformat. Attached is the debug log (cbu). Thanks very much for any help you may offer.

Ditto.

Install yesterday. Forgot to reboot before using, and built a working Rescue Disc. Rebooted the PC and tested the disc. All was OK. But the disc had the “You need to reboot before … blah blah…” message. So i restarted the PC, and tried making another disc.

Now all i get is this error while making disc message.

I have tried creating ISO image, and direct to disc. Turned off my FW and AV, no luck.

Please help, attached Debug logs.

Anyone got this problem solved yet?

Same problem here.

Hi,

This worked for me.
Win 7 64-bit

Download latest CBU 4.4.1.23, installed, and was getting the “An error has occurred while creating the WinPE image.”.
Closed CBU.
Went to http://www.download.hr/old-version-comodo-backup.html and download version 4.2.2.15.
Ran the downloaded 4.2.2.15 installation exe file. You get 2 choices, Repair or Uninstall, chose Repair.
It did its repair.
Start CBU like normal.
During the creating of the WinPE image it said I needed to reboot. I chose not to reboot and it worked fine.
The version noted, in the status bar, at the bottom of CBU still shows version 4.4.1.
Good Luck.

The reload following the instructions listed in “Reply 8” worked for me. I created an ISO image and used my Roxio DVD burner to create a Recovery DVD. Instructions copied below:

I had this problem too. win7 64bit. The method from reply 8 just about did the trick. However, finding the older version is much harder than it looked, they all seemed to have autoupdated the download links to the newest version. This one did the job:

Furthermore, I installed the Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) Supplement for Windows 7 SP1 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=5188) as well the compulsory WAIK (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=5753). I’m not sure if this was necessary but it’s worth a try if all else fails.

To install WAIK you need unpack (I used 7zip) the iso and run the StartCD.exe and install AIK. The supplement requires you follow these instructions

in other words, unpack the supplement iso, copy contents into C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools and repair WAIP in Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features.

After that, I created an ISO of the winep. And made it bootable using rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/ FAT32 default allocation size. using the command prompt was arduous.

Then boot from usb… and good luck. After hours and hours of trying everything I could think of I finally failed after my only system image restored to 80% before informing me that it was corrupted.

Not using comodo ever again I’m afraid, that was a series of miserable events. This process should only have lasted 10minutes outside backup/restore time.
