Error 146 when Backup tries to send an email

G’day,

I’ve setup a new backup job to include email notifications, but, although the backup completes and verifies OK, it produces error 146 when trying to send.

There is no fault in my email app - send and receive without issue - only when CBU tries to send an email.

CBU Version : 4.4.1 (Everything is up to date).

Much appreciated if someone can explain this error message.

I had same issue. I had to set my Gmail account to allow ‘less secure apps’:
https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps

SMTP Settings:
smtp.gmail.com
Port 465 / SSL

That worked for me.
