Hello,

Reporting a minor bug in the restore function :

The manual says:
Alternately,
• Navigate to the backup file through Windows Explorer, right click on the .cbu file and select 'CBU Restore'.
This takes you to Step 2.

Actually it does not take me to step 2 (Selecting the Restore Method) but to step 1, i still have to select network, computer, folder, etc.

Regards,
Byrge
Hi Byrge,

Welcome to the forums,
Are you sure you are using Comodo Backup version 1.0?
.CBU files sound like version 2.x to me.

Just found out i reported to the wrong subforum, i'm using version 2.2.127. Makes me wonder why people still use 1.0.4.337 ?

Regards,
Byrge

Thanks Ronny

Incremental Backups is the one I'm looking and waiting for on v2... It's up for the next release next month...
I'll move the report. Seems you already took care of that.

Hi,

I am running a german XP SP3 and have a few files with cyrilic letters in the filename. Backup failing to copy these files. The log file says something like.

Code:
Error copying file D:\a\b\???? ?????????.doc

while the filename - visible in the explorer says Фото Категории.doc and the file is fully accessible.

Rather sad, because the tool is good otherwise.

Regards,
Matthias

I think this probably mirrors the bugs reported by ecadre and aarnos.

I will confirm, running English XP SP3 and Comodo Backup, that I am experiencing the same thing.

I am using it to backup my iTunes directory, about 114Gb worth of files. It backs it up *except* for a single file...

Code:
С Новым Годом, Друзья! (Happy New Ye.mp3

It gives the same sort of error log as Matthias identifies with ? for the Cyrillic (presumably Unicode) characters.

I'd like to say I hope you address the unicode issue, but I'd also like to say that I've tried a lot of tools for backup and so far yours is best for my purposes (I use it to sync files as well). The price tag is not what drew me in (I'd pay for something that did what I needed), but the fact I could try out some non-crippleware that seems to work very well. Hopefully you can continue addressing bugs as it is a really handy utility.

My thanks,
Tom B

Wow, your lucky. Mine is half the time ignoring the incremental statement, and half the time creating backupfiles that iis  adressing a noncanged disc with 20 gb more than the real value.

Seems like a Microsoft strategy, publishing a version that has not really bin tested and hoping for the users to test it.

Thougt COMODO would have higher moral than $soft.

Why not go to the stockmarket with that attitude?!
