Firewall Tutorial for Utorrent with Comodo Internet Security

now i have. still 0 incoming connections. I have previously used Ragwind set if rules .
on prevous Bittorrent client I 'd used before, this problem would be I'm stealthy or hidden from other users who wish to connect to me. I believe somehow Comodo is barring such connections.

Now , i 'm assuming all who uses comodo and utorrent have no issues with inbound connections? I've read thru the thread here and it seems my problem is unique. there must be something by default that i have tweaked that shuts out inbound traffic.

oh , and i have switched off Windows personal firewall

Sorry for me its easy cause I am behind a hardware firewall. All I did was port forward my hardware firewall then made uTorrent trusted under Comodo. Have you tried deleting all your global rules then click apply. Run the stealth port wizard for the P2P connection. Then run it again for the block all incoming connections. Be sure the P2P is on top. Remove uTorrent from the firewall and D+. Start up uTorrent. Close out uTorrent Completely. Go into Comodo and make uTorrent trusted under the firewall and D+.

Ok i 'd done a " litmus test " - turned off comodo completely and runs a port scan on my Utorrent port which is running and listening . I did this by using GRC shields up probe and using the default Utorrent port check. The results still show my port is stealthy or not being forwarded properly.

Does this indicate anything ?

Afaik , i'm not behind any hardware firewall.

Sorry i do not follow the steps you 'd described. What is the stealth port wizard? and D+ referring to defenses plus  of comodo ?

The icon on my taskbar showing the U logo is green , if that's what you 're referring to.  I had not noticed any other color beside green to be honest .

doesn't the port checker tells you whether the Utorrent listening port is open?

LOL. uTorrent icon is always green. Thats not what I meant. There is a check mark on the bottom middle of uTorrent which shows if your connected properly and if not you click it for advice.

alright , it shows a yellow triangle icon that indicates no incoming connections.

clicking on the icon leads to the speed gude tabs. there is no troubleshoot wizard or port test wizard.

I see that you suggest removing all global rules click apply and then run some stealth port wizard. what is this nifty lil program ?

Your clicking the wrong thing. Click on the yellow check mark on uTorrent. That will bring you to the port forward page. The stealth port wizard is in Comodo under the firewall tab.

I`m new to configuring firewalls but learning (hopefully).
To me this seems a lot of work.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong with calling uTorrent a "trusted application", and clicking the middle option on the "port stealthing" option.
 The uTorrent light goes green immediately.
When ive finished using uTorrent I stealth all my ports again.
 Am I doing anything wrong using this method? and am I leaving my compt. at risk? (L)

If you set uTorrent as a "trusted application" you are telling CFP that it can communicate in whatever manner it wants; you do not want CFP to monitor & control if necessary (such as if it were to get hijacked).

The middle option in the port stealthing wizard was designed with p2p apps such as uTorrent in mind.  If you are switching back and forth between the wizard settings, you need to make sure that you are not creating more layers of Global Rules for the firewall.  Typically, I have not seen the wizard to remove previous rules, only add new ones to the top.  May not be a problem, but keep an eye on it...

Hi everyone,
                  thanks to Pandlouk & Ragwing for supplying the configuration rules for setting up utorrent, there`s no way i would have even attempted to do it without them. A few days ago i tried Pandlouks instructions and despite following it to the letter, i couldn`t get utorrent to run properly so ended up uninstalling it and clearing all traces of it from CFP 3. Now with more time to spend on it i thought i would try Ragwings OPTION 2 instructions, but am stuck at the very first part of it. To me it just reads as a riddle (and a good one at that). I`ve read all 21 pages of the utorrent thread and nobody else has asked it. Please can someone explain the following for me as i`m completely lost with it. QUOTE:

Go to Firewall->Advanced->Network Security Policy->Global Rules and add the following rule above all blocking (red) rules:

There should be rules with a red circle icon. You have to drag and drop the green and yellow based rules above the red one.
