Here is a funny story about a new rogue that does NOT exist: Secure Shield. Read how it was propagating from blogs to fake free cleaners.

Users should not trust cleaners promoted by affiliates business plan.

It might be OT but related.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued a guideline that point out the application of federal law against deceptive advertising.

What's the punishment for not complying? The FTC could issue a warning letter, or pursue corrective action including a fine of up to $11,000 per violation. Both advertisers (such as a product maker) and endorsers (such as bloggers) may be held liable under the guidelines.

Probably this would apply to all those bloggers who blatantly advertised a remover/cleaner for something that does not exist aka Secure Shield.

A fine would eventually persuade them to forsake this habit.  Thumb Up
