Killed eveything, just started getting it trying to boot in any mode, failing then trying again, the only way i could stop it was to go into BIOS and boot from cd.
Ive just noticed a real weird one, dont know if anyone has come accross this or knows the answer but me keyboard is all in a mess.Theres a [ at ] when you do shift/2 and vise versa, theres about five keys all jumbled up but its just a standard keyboard and it says its working ok.Just gonna try another.....[ at ]~| nope still the same  Huh
Its weird its just the shift and 2/3 that are mixed up with the shift ;/',oh no tell a lie the top left key and the hash key are mixed up as well, now i cant do no hash Grin

I agree, sounds like Matty needs to set his keyboard to UK.

edit: So, that's 'UK' rather than US. Grin

What the heck is the point of SP3? It's all SP2 updates rolled into one package right? Well, I already have all updates for SP2.

It's going to force Windows Genuine Advantage down our throats, I assume, and I do not want that garbage on my PC.

Looking through this thread, it's also making a mess of peoples computers.

I want nothing to do with SP3, and I'll probably tell my mother to steer clear of it also.

I completely disagree. I have installed SP3 on both my pc's and it runs great. I have also installed it on5 others pc's with now troubles.

I've installed in on 2 of my XP computers and haven't had ANY issues.

It's not a major update as far as changes go.  The Windows website points out that there aren't any real changes to the user's experience.

Could you tell me what kind of experiences you have had with the Windows Genuine Advantage tool?

Is that in SP3? I was worried about it but there's been no sign of it so far. This might be because I slipstreamed SP3 in to Pro/SP2 where Reg. and Activation were set as done.

What did you use to slipstream where Reg and Activation could be set as being done?

No problems there either.

Sorry, no - I did it about 3 years ago and can't remember. Also had help from another member of a closed newsgroup to which I no longer have access.
I keep several copies of the SP2 slipstream as I can't afford to lose it!

Was that directly on to the existing installation - if so, was there already a previous SP?

Hello. Greetings from Bavaria, Germany.

Just in case someone out there hasn't managed yet to get rid of WMP whilst having used nLite as a damn good shrinker...

I guess there exists an old, reliable tool.

If in need of that (total removal of WMP, reinstallment of crucial sys files, omnipotent freeware player software, i.e. rtsp, qt files etc., just ask...)
