I knew I wasn't going completely mad when I was talking about Simple Volumes:

This is the driver page for your model:

that's the same page where i downloaded bluetooth driver (in 64bit vista section) & messed up my system Roll Eyes

np Quill, i've contacted a guy, he's experienced in dualboot thingy.
he once got the same BSOD using xp SP3.
he said it's indeed SATA controller driver issue & even using SP3 is still gonna give you the BSOD
the only way is to slipstream the driver in Nlite SP3.
that's what i'm doing right now.

this is my last attempt for setting up dualboot system. if this one fail, then i have no choice but trying to install XP & spend hours to download those XP drivers.

*sigh* apple & orange. i want both  Roll Eyes

i'm just gonna lock this topic  Smiley thx for everyone who's helping me  Kiss

unlocked  Grin
finally made myself a shiny Nlited XP SP3 + intel(R) ICH9M E/M SATA Controller.
Q&A:

Q: is it working?
A: Yes

Q: so you've successfully installed XP on partition?
A: Yes

Q: so,you have dualboot computer now?
A: nope, i don't even have any boot  Roll Eyes

the XP installation ran smoothly.
i notice something strange though (not sure if it's related).
when i insert my name & company name, the M key actually type a 4. some letter keys typed different numbers Huh
anywho,... the installation finished, the machine reboot, i got the XP symbol about 1 second, and then BSOD for about half a second, and then i got the safe mode, last known configuration, start windows normally screen.
i tried each one of them, got the same result, BSOD for half second (can't read the error code) & get back to the safe mode, last known config screen. i have to shutdown the computer from BIOS.

well, i know from the tutorial that once you've installed XP, the vista bootloader won't work, and then i suppose to use vistabootpro from XP to fix vista bootloader.
but now i can't even use XP  Roll Eyes

i think there's a way to fix vista bootloader by dowloading vista recovery disk .ISO & burn it on CD
or using separate vista OS installer. but i can't make recovery disk since the only CD writer i have is on the laptop & i don't have vista OS installer Roll Eyes

so...here i am, point of no return, guess i have to stick with 1 OS after all huh?  Smiley
it's 11PM here. i'll just leave the brick lappy today.
tomorrow i'll try installing XP & hunt for VAIO drives.

nah, i'm back to Vista 64 Grin
used vaio recovery disk, i managed to boot into vista.
back to square one Smiley
