Hi
Every time I go online I have started to get a Comodo warning " Romove Failed " stating that not all malware could be removed " and " Do I want to get live support?
This looks like a form of SPAM and is very irritating, what's more it will no go away when I click the red X and stops on my screen until I close down.
Does anybody  know how I can get rid of it ?? regards Robert.

That's not a spam, Comodo wants to help you to remove malware.

Hi Morphiusz
Thanks for the reply, I took it to be spam because there is no obvious way of removing it as it will not close down, and after the question " Do you want to get live suport " there is no button to answer yes or no, and I just move it to the edge of my screen and it stays there until I switch off..
I have had Comodo for about three years (probably more) and have never before been alerted to any malware by the Comodo program.
What I need to know then if its not spam is why its there, and what action to take?
Regards Robert.

Can you show a screenshot of the pop up screen you get?

If it is about an infection then try scanning with several other scanners:
Hitman Pro
Super Antispyware
Malwarebytes Antimalware
Spybot Search and Destroy

Hi Eric
Thanks for your input, sorry I don't know how to do a screen shot, and send it, the popup comes on when I boot up, but I can move it about the screen.
I do regular scans with Malware Bytes and Avast, just done M Bytes quick scan and all is OK.
Regards Robert.

How to post a screenshot?

To copy a screenshot of the active window push alt+print screen to copy the active window to the clipboard (pushing print screen will copy the complete window to the clipboard not just the active window). The window is now copied to the clipboard.  Paste the image in any image editing program, Paint, Paint.net, the Gimp etc. Use the "crop" function to resize the canvas to size of the image. Now save the file as 32 bits png image.

At the forum push the reply button. Or when using the Quick reply type some text and push the preview button.

Underneath the text box click on Additional options. Push the Choose button and navigate to the file and select it. When you want to post more images click on the more attachments link.

When done typing push the Post or Preview button.

Hi Eric. thanks for your help, I have figured out how to save the shot, and I saved it as a .jpg then reduced it by 50%, after your good advice I was going to do another this morning in .png but I have just installed 73 updates and the popup has not come back (yet) so here is the jpg image.
The prob started after I had to take out my sick graphics card, and I am running on the PC's graphics until the new one arrives, I also had to run a repair with the XP Disk as my mouse and keyboard would not work on reboot, and yesterday I did a complete install, maybe that and the updates has cured it?? in the meantime I have ordered a Windows 7 dvd.
I would still be most grateful for your opinion as to what has gone wrong, and what to check if the popup comes back.
Regards Robert.

Hi Dacia, thanks for your interest. (that was quick) :-)
No I only use Comodo as a firewall and the Avast as a anti virus checker

Another tip on screenshots. When you push alt+printscreen buttons it will take a screenshot of the active screen. This way you can take a screenshot of f.e. the error message.

Please also let the other mentioned scanners scan. May be they can fix it. If that does not work can you post a screenshot of the AV logs (View Anti Virus Event)? May be we get some extra information about what file is being targeted and what the name is.

Hi Eric
I did a scan with both Avast and Malware Bytes but didn't see any meaningful log files, I am sure that there is a logfile saved by the windows operating system, but I can't remember how to get to it to open it.
Its so irritating to have to keep moving the popup about the screen, and I would like to know whats causing it,(were you able to click on the screen shot and see the popup ?)  I am sure its something to do with the " Chat Now " button on the L Hand side of the Comodo dash board, it will probably go away if I pay for the (chat now) advice from Comodo, still the Windows7 DVD should arrive soon, and that will cure it, but one does not expect Comodo to build in a popup that won't close down, and it also makes me wonder if it will come back if I reinstall Comodo after I put windows7 on the PC.
Regards Robert.

I guess you are running only FW & D+. When AV part is not installed then there is no quarantine folder & you get this warning sometimes not all threats can be removed on malware detection from cloud. Happened with me too.

Thanxx

Hi Naren, you have something there that makes sense I'll look into it, for information I was playing round the dashboard and clicked on updates, and lots of updates came in and installed, that was over 5 hrs ago and the popup has not come back. :-)
I will be putting Windows7 on the PC soon and was wondering if there was anyway I could save my Comodo settings rather than start from a new download, because as far as I know once the new disk starts it wipes all the drive and the programs, anyway thanks for your help. Regards Robet.

Update :
The popup came back yesterday but this time it had the " Yes and No " buttons on it, so I just clicked it off and all was OK, it does look like something was corrupt or scrambled that the updates have sorted out, so I think that I can now call this a problem solved, I do have one more query that I will put as a different question
my thanks all for your help and input, best of regards Robert.
