House Kills SOPA [examiner.com]

So.. SOPA's dead and, I assume, PIPA's next.

Good riddance SOPA.  Thumb Up

Now let's hope that also it's ugly cousin PIPA gets the boot...

Don't know if this has been posted here, didn't accessed all the links... I liked what this guy had to say about SOPA so here it goes anyway...

I'm not sure why the apparent death of SOPA hasn't reached the mainstream media yet or why they're reporting that the protest blackout is going ahead (tomorrow) in the name of SOPA. Shouldn't they have switched their attention to PIPA by now? What am I missing here?

I guess the SOPA tag has had more coverage of late, so even though the bill is dead, for now, it's easier to draw people in with something familiar, at least until they have caught on to PIPA.

Looks like Google is also 'going dark' at least in part:

Google will protest SOPA using popular home page

What was that about SOPA being 'dead' - From Lamar Smith:

statement posted to the Judiciary Committee’s website
Anti-piracy bill markup to continue next month

Quote
Due to the Republican and Democratic retreats taking place over the next two weeks, markup of the Stop Online Piracy Act is expected to resume in February.

Seems he doesn't really understand his own bill...

Sponsor of online piracy bill calls Wikipedia blackout a 'publicity stunt'

Quote
It is ironic that a website dedicated to providing information is spreading misinformation about the Stop Online Piracy Act," Smith said in a statement on Tuesday. "The bill will not harm Wikipedia, domestic blogs or social networking sites. This publicity stunt does a disservice to its users by promoting fear instead of facts. Perhaps during the blackout, Internet users can look elsewhere for an accurate definition of online piracy.

These Websites Are Going Dark to Protest SOPA Wednesday

If you have a Wordpress Blog you can participate Likewise, if you have Twitter # BlackoutSOPA

I think Victor wants to know what Comodo's official opinion is on this. Are they for or against and for what reasons.

IMO the right choice is against it.
