no windows explorer please help.

hi.
i recently updated some software on my computer and the whole desktop then disappeared leaving just the wallpaper.
is there any key combinations which can bring the desktop back?
thank you.

Windows Key + E.
Whatever you updated probably either crash the explorer shell or halted it (without restarting it). You should probably restart anyway (some of the systray icons might be messed up).

Press ctrl+alt+del , it will open the task manager.
Now select the file->new task(run)
now enter "explorer.exe".
