In February when Dell launched IdeaStorm as forum for customers to contribute ideas for product offerings, we received overwhelming feedback that customers wanted Linux on desktops and notebooks.

As part of an overall effort to update our Linux program, today we are announcing a partnership with Canonical to offer Ubuntu on select consumer desktop and notebook products.

This is really WOW! Finally a big name company to advertise linux.  Many users dont know what linux is and now can see the path to happyness  Bounce

Maybe this will teach Microsoft to not mess with linux Cheesy

Although im sure more beginners would prefer Kubuntu, for me it has an easier feel to it.

Melih or anyone else with a server....is linux or windows servers better to run on because according to Microsoft, Windows Server is a lot better.

Hard to believe they say Windows server has better security when windows OS is the most vulnerable to viruses, spyware and.....Linux is actually cheaper because most distros are open source.

This is really great, Dell is finally giving their customers a choice. It is only a matter of time until other brand name PC builders such as HP, Toshiba and others start giving their customers the same choice.
