I'm using both FF and Opera (not at the same time, of course...well...ermm) Smiley

Otherwise, my Sys simply has got to be one of the most slim of all of 'em existing out there, if not the slimmest Smiley [<Of which I'm totally sure of, course]

Cheers to Löwenadler and other survivors. You know who you are! Smiley

Simply Opera for me and other browsers in case of compatibility issues with a web site.

Opera is fast and versatile. It holds many useful and sometimes nifty functions that I can't easily do without. Opera has the equivalent of 150 FF extensions hard coded and directly available straight form the box.

Is this a substantial estimation or rather a number of expression, like "Opera has a million features"?

Here is the source by Rijk van Geijtenbeek one of Opera's QA people: http://my.opera.com/Rijk/blog/2006/07/04/top-150-popular-firefox-extensions-and-opera  and http://files.myopera.com/Rijk/blog/extensions.html .

The list has not been updated since summer 2007 but still is a good indication. Can you imagine FF with 150 extensions? I sometimes dream of a performance test between Opera and FF with 150 extensions....  Evil

For a daily read regarding Opera read Planet Opera: http://planet.operapl.net/

There is one things that truly annoys me about Opera and that is that it waits for the final redraw of a page until all elements are loaded. Documents are loaded and it waits to jump to a post here at the forum until the last images is loaded (typically an image from the dragonsadapter site for the situation here at the Comodo forums). I am waiting 8s before it jumps to the requested post (I am on a speedy 15 Mb/s ADSL 2+ connection).

Currently trying K-Meleon, pretty fast and stable, first impressions  Thumb Up

Agree with the Opera thing about elements, if you`ve got a load of outsourced avatars/sigs it can take a while to fully load the page.

Might try Orca next Undecided

Speaking of mail, I'm using Gmail (webmail) in Opera and it's STILL not working properly. Very bad, Opera. The main problem is row breaks. I can make several row breaks when composing the mail... but after I've sent it, there will be no row breaks (well technically there is one row break but no blank rows), making it hard to read for the recipient. Sad At least that's how it's displayed when viewing the sent mail in Opera.

I use Opera for years now. FF is my second browser, IE third.

The only thing that would be great is "AdblockPlus for Opera". While I can block ads by hand, the pre-configured lists of AdblockPlus are nice. NoScript is very noisy and therefore quite annoying. I don't miss it in Opera.

What I don't like is that many people claim that FF brought all the browsing innovations while for the most part it was Opera that deserved the credit. FF is only usable after installing at least three add-ons.

EDIT: I forgot what I like about Opera: Customizability, speed, functionality.

For ad blocking I use the Fanboy list (also to be had for Ad Block Plus): http://my.opera.com/mp3geek/blog/ .

I have my own 7 KB urlfilter.ini for Opera, it blocks ads sufficiently, and I like the fact that I'm in control over it. I wouldn't feel in control over a large list made by someone else, moreover complemented by a .css file I rarely know the contents of.

As mentioned I use Orca Browser primarily and Opera as my second browser, I'd like to see something in the lines of VEngine incorporated into all browsers but not only to flag secure sites for banking or other online transactions but also to flag dangerous sites such as Finjan and other site advisors do but with Green, Yellow, Red & Grey frames around the browser window to denote safety/trustworthiness factor of a given site before you click on anything contained within the site in question as comodo does now. Thumb Up
Just an idea
Cheers Cheers
Xman Cool
