Guys, I mislead you tiny a bit (remembering this topic's title).. SearchMash is Google. It's Google's next-gen search engine.

They should be happy/proud if people say
- just google for it. Huh

You would think so. If I said, I have to Comodo it, I would think Melih would be proud, not peeved. This is what happens when a company gets too large. A few wonders, how movie companies made it all these years without VHS or DVDs and went entirely by movie theater earnings, yet if you copy a dvd, it will bring down the empire. What does this have to do with Google? Nothing.

Look out everyone, Kail is a Google spy. He secretly puts out search engines under Google fooling us into believing it isn't Google. He can no longer be trusted.  Grin  While I know not in the best intrests of Comodo, I WISH THEY HAD THEIR OWN SEARCH ENGINE!!! One day, one day.

Spies amongst us!  Aack, aack.   Angry  Perhaps the bunny can sniff them out in the open.

I agree.  You want name recognition?  You got it.  Yes, some may say "google it" and use a different engine, but the name has it.  Easy to remember, on the tongue, blah, blah, blah.

Paul, I don't know that saying, "Comodo it" has quite the same ring, though.  Sounds kinda "flushable"...  could just be me, tho.  Smiley

Paul,

I was looking at Gimp, and being the non-guru type that I am, I am a bit confused...  It looks like (and I didn't try it, due to my confusion and/or trepidation) you have to be able to compile it or something, that it's not just a "regular" downloadable .exe package.  Is this correct, or am I missing something?

TNX,

LM

No , you are missing something lol.

http://gimp.org/windows/

You also need the GTK . Download and install the GTK first. Then install Gimp. It's that easy.

TNX, but whar's my "dumb" answer?  I thought I had a (at least somewhat) smart question, and here you give such a concise, accurate answer.  (I'll go there again; what I read - I looked at the GTK, too, coz you mentiond that b4 - made it look like it needed compilation all the way around.  Maybe - no doubt - I was confused; perhaps by their GNU-project explanation page - I probably read too much and my brain overloaded.)   Huh  Just a  Nerd tryin' 2 b  Kewl.   Tongue

LM

I used PhotoPlus to make my current avatar (or part of it, at least; I did the 3D border in XnView, and maybe some other stuff, too).

Aha!  Here's my intelligent donkey side coming out again...

This is where the downloadable, installable version of Gimp is - http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/.  The gimp.org/windows site (per their statement) only contains products for software developers using Gimp/GTK+.  Perhaps (probably not likely) I wasn't as confused as I was thought to be.  Wink

Man, the Help file is bigger than the program (some 32M, compared to 7M)!  Do I need it?

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html
I had to look for myself... man, it was 32018 kb! Shocked
Just print it out, and you will have some nice reading in bed for a while... Wink
Gimp was 7745 kb
GTK+ was 4993 kb
Gimp animation package 2542 kb
The helpfile is still bigger than all of those together... :Smiley
You have to wait until Paul answers, but if you know that you will use it sometimes, it would probably be worth downloading.

I know, isn't that just a crazy-large file?  I dl'd it, coz I was there and figured it would be, uh, helpful; I just let it go in the background and walked away for a minute.  Good thing I'm not on dial-up; I'd still be here at midnight.   Tongue

Maybe it's so large coz Gimp is sooooo confusing?   Grin

LM

PS:  I don't wanna get Paul riled up, but when I started this reply, my post-count was at 98, so this one should push it to 99, which is very close to 100.  Not that this is a magic #, but I saw a thread wherein (maybe the Topic of no Topics?) he philosphically questioned the existential reality of the post-count at a given moment in time.  Smiley

No, I won't go there. As well, I never downloaded the help file. It's (to me) much easier to just understand some basics and dwelve into it on my own and found the help files a burdon and left me more confused.
