CPF SETUP FOR BEARSHARE LITE

Do you have a tutorial for setting up CPF to allow Bearshare Lite free access and exchange to the internet. I have been using Bearshare recently and 4th led remains yellow which indicates the firewall is partially restricting exchange of data. See below:

Not firewalled (4th LED) 

 The second startup event will be BearShare detecting your firewall status. The 4th, or rightmost LED will flash green during the firewall detection phase. Give BearShare at least one minute to determine if you are firewalled or not.

If the 4th LED turns to steady green, congratulations! You are now cleared and ready to share files
If the 4th LED turns to a steady yellow, then you are firewalled, either because of a personal firewall installed on your computer, or because you have a router with a built-in firewall, or both! You will not be able to share files until you configure the firewall to allow BearShare incoming and outgoing access to the internet. If you are not sure how to do that, check our firewall tutorial pages to see if your particular brand of firewall is mentioned there. If not, please consult your firewall help files or website documentation.

and implement the Rule 1 for gnutella that is described there.

Pandlouk, thanks for your response... it left me with some questions. Does the Rule 1 mean it is to be placed in sequence (0,1,2 etc) under the network monitor tab or does it mean something else. Also Bearshare has a port 6348 in it's connection set up... see here:

Please advise and fill in as many details as I am still a novice with CPF.

No in the tutorial tfor KCeasy numbers 1,2,3,4 are just for indicating that are needed four rules for it to work.

In your chase follow the first rule and instead of port 6346 use the port 6348. Then move this rule up over the default blovk rule and you are done .

( CPF "reads" the rules from top to bottom, upper rules have the priority over the lower)

Pandlouk, the fix worked... once CPF allowed bearshare full exchange it improved download speed up to 3mbps and sometimes faster. One of the greatest assets that you guys have is your quick response to the forums. I know some people seem to have problems with CPF but I have found it to be excellent with a seamless installation, reassurinng pops to verify and allow good applications and prevent bad ones. Computers have been my hobby for several years now so that is why it has probably been easier for me to try out your new product than some of the others. I find it fascinating to try out good freeware programs and so far CPF has been superb. The open door communications that are available to us from your company are exemplary and pave the way for the success of your new and innovative products.
