a while ago i erased my list of allowed connections. as i dont have auto update or comodo antivirus running, i made no rule for comodo.

sometimes when i am installing something, i get a message: cmdagent tries to connect (dns ips).
there is no reason why cis should connect to the internet.

no threatcast, update (antivirus, firewall), no "send unknown samples to comodo", nothing of that is activated.

it appears then among the other questionwindows while the installations...

newest version of cis. proactive mode.

I'm not a complete idiot, some bits are missing.

If you have rules or Network Zones that contain hostnames, then CIS will need to periodically resolve those names into IP numbers for obvious reasons. Thus the DNS look-ups that you're seeing. Cmdagent.exe performs the DNS resolves.

no, i make all rules myself. so i know that theres no "name adress" among them.
and it happens (only) when i install sometimes something.
as i block the first dns asking, i dont know if there would be a real adress coming later.
in my eyes theres no reason for comodo do resolve something in that scenario.

what would comodo be able to do better, when it makes dns requests?
