I have found that Comodo updater seems to be running all the time. The reason I say that is that when using Misc ==>Check for updates I get a message that says: "Updater is already running. Please wait for it to complete". Can anyone shed some light on this?

COMODO Internet Security 3.10.102363.531 is the latest version (build after .530), So CIS must be trying to update to that.
Have you checked possible security software conflicts and your internet connection that might be causing CIS's update process to stall? Rebooting a few times and manually checking a few times before it is successful could do the trick to.
