Yea, I went ahead and reinstalled my windows vista home edition on a vmware to see if this would affect that as well, which it did.  Even the VMWare Vista install hangs at the welcome screen and the only thing installed on there is Vista Plus all windows updates.

Also on my dell laptop I went ahead and uninstalled CIS and everything is back to normal again, boots up just fine no freeze on the welcome screen.  At the moment im just going to run AVG untill this can be resolved.  I continue to use this on my XP netbook without any problems...

You installed this version of Vista + CIS on a VM and that also is affected ?
What's your version of Vista HE you are running then ? Is it a OEM disk ?

The last time I reinstalled windows vista on my laptop, the first thing I did after it finished installing was to create a norton ghost image of the install.  Instead of restoring this ghost image to my laptop I just converted it to a VM ware image and booted that up.  Then ran windows update and then installed CIS.

Exact same problem happens when trying to login.  Are you looking for the exact version of vista home edition?

Yep wondering where this version came from M$ download, DVD, OEM shipped etc...

Has anyone else experienced internet connection issues with windows XP and the newest version of CIS or know of a forum post?  I just updated my windows XP machine to the newest version and it kills my browsing session about half the time.  When i disable CIS my internet browsing goes back to 100% reliable.

Also still working on getting that vista version for you.  Ive gone ahead and removed CIS from my vista machine and with this additional problem on XP im about to just remove it from there too...
