I have the same issue. Till last update everything was fine.
After some time after booting into OS (XP SP2 Rus) my cmdagent.exe begin to utilize CPU on 50% non-stop
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz HT, 1 Gb RAM.
NOD32 2.7.39
CFP updated by builtin updater 31.10.2008 to 2.5.54375.427
Still I can't catch the exact moment of growing CPU utilization by cmdagent.exe . I tried to launch all my often used applications one by one and all together - everything looks fine... Manual locking of Windows (Win+L), or even manual starting of screensaver - still all fine... but at one moment - again cmdagent.exe 49%-50% of CPU ...
One more to say:
When I tried to update - at different percents I've got an error, but in last attempt all was done correctly.
At my notebook I've updated CFP too - there is no problems at all.
Also at my notebook I've noticed, that icon of CFP in tray changed to new one. But on my home PC (where I have this issue) I see the old one icon in tray. But "About" section tells me that I have the latest CFP and "Check Update" tells me there is no newer version.

I've got the same problem with cmdagent.exe using 100% when i try to launch the installation of Adaware 2008 Free version.....I have tried adding the file to 'My Own Safe Files', but as soon as I click on it, cmdagent goes crazy again.
This is what I get when I look into 'View Defence+ Events':
11/1/2008 5:44:17 PM F:\IE-Firefox Downloads\aaw2008.exe Modify Key HKUS\S-1-5-21-2025429265-1275210071-839522115-1004\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\WiseStubReboot
not sure what that all means, but each time I have clicked on the file, this is what has been logged. I hope someone can help, otherwise I'm gonna have to ditch Comodo, and I really don't want to do that.

XP Pro SP3 32-bit
I updated to CIS last week, installed the FW/D+ only, and got CFP 3.5.54375.427. Ever since, it will work for awhile after booting up, and then will peg one of the cores in my dual core CPU. If I unprotect it, and then kill it and restart the CMDAGENT service, then it works fine. It only gets hung up shortly after reboot, and never recovers (I've let it run for 2 hours to see).
I've attached a dump from Process Exporer, which shows it making an enormous number of context switches every second, and it's stuck on 1 thread, taking 50% of my CPU (100% of 1 core of my dual core CPU).
How fast do they patch stuff like this? This is crazy!

Can you list the "Non default Microsoft Services" that are running Automatically ? on your system, as you have seen before, users are reporting conflicts with Logitech stuff, could be something like that conflicting with CIS.

Also I've noticed a one combination:
I've installed NOD32 (2.7.39), CFP updated to newest one, The Bat! (2.02.03) (e-mail client)
NOD configured to intercept 110 port and searching incoming e-mails for viruses.
So when I launch The Bat, cmdagent.exe rising its utilization of CPU up to 99%. I've let it run up to several hours.
This situation repeating ANY time.

Does that also happen if you have the RealTime AV disabled ? if not please try to Disable Defense+ and if not Firewall ? see if that brings us any closer to the cause.

Thank you for advise. I'll try all combinations of FireWall (en/dis) D+ (en/dis) and NOD32 (en/dis port 110 checking for viruses), but not today
I'll post results of tests here later. (also I need a lot of time, because with cmdagent.exe up to 99% CPU It needs about 30-40 minutes to correct shutdown of OS)
UPD.
Recently I've updated The Bat to newer version (4.0.34) and this problem resolved (Also I didn't change any setting in Comodo or NOD32). Since then I did notice any attempt of cmdagent.exe to extra-utilize my CPU.

Well, I rebooted, killed it, started the service back up, and was working away fine when my system just went to 100% CPU on full core. Took me about 2 minutes to get Process Explorer to pop up, and it was cmdagent.exe taking all if it -- every shred of CPU cycle -- for a CreateThread. I had to hold the power button to cold-cycle the machine...I couldn't even get it to shutdown.
I thought I'd evaluate the new version (I started using Comodo FP in July). I'm still getting used to it, but it works pretty well when it works. I am a system software engineer on a very tight schedule right now (I write services and drivers and system stuff) and I do not have time to beta test firewalls. So, I've backed it back down to 3.0, which did not give me this problem before.
I have a number of tools fun stuff running. I don't have cycles to divert my debugger at the SCM and try to figure where the interactions are that are killing my system with cmdagent.exe 3.5 service. I'll leave that up to Comodo's engineers. They made a critical change between 3.0 and 3.5 that has caused their code to fast-loop -- creating > 2000 context switches per second on a single thread at times. It would appear that they have a logic flaw that doesn't properly account for an out-of-band condition somewhere. They should focus on finding that...

Hello,
I tried to install and uninstall Comodo firewall 3 times. I was using firewall this week again. When I was not connected to the internet, firewall worked OK. But now, as I went in the internet, cmdagent.exe uses again 100% CPU. My connection type is modem. I attach a screenshot of using CPU.
Could you tell what browser do you use, and does this problem occurs only with browser or with other applications using the Internet too (IM's, e-mail clients e.t.c)

I've already posted here, but I've now reformatted because I wanted to nlite my XP installation a bit. Everything worked great until I installed WindowBlinds then the same issue occurs as before (Opened firefox browser then cmdagent eats 100% CPU). Before I could open firefox with Comodo with no issues, but after that reboot from installing WindowBlinds this CPU hog bug happened again.
Anyone else use WindowBlinds here? Just trying to reach some common ground here so ya'll can fix this bug. I enjoy Comodo too much to give up on it. /fanboy
WinXP 32-bit SP3 + All Updates, 2.54 Ghz 1 GB RAM, Admin account, No other security, Comodo set to Proactive defense.

If you uninstall it and reboot, does it still go 100% ?
