Sorry to bump this, but is no one else having trouble with Itunes sharing/remote/bonjour? I've found two or three threads with similar trouble, but went unresolved. It's happening on both my desktop and laptop, even with the firewall disabled, only fix is to uninstall it, works every time (and I've tried more than a couple times).

Do the logs of the Firewall and D+ give us clues here? Can you post screenshots of them?

Hi All..

I Have the exact same problem. iTunes on Vista with CIS 5.0.163652.1142
Uninstalling CIS and iTunes plays fine on my airport express.

[at]EricJH >in your first response you say:
"First step is to determine the MAC or Physical address of you network connector"
Exactly which network connector? The one on the computer running iTunes? The airport express? Or the home Router?

Will I need to restart the computer after these changes?

Thanks kasper

EricJH in Reply #3 you say:
"If you are making your local network trusted the open port rule in Global Rules will not be necessary."

How do I do this? Sorry if this is suppose to be easy, it might be, when you know where to look, but I'm not used to dig around in Comodo, it normally just work! There is so many settings I seam to be digging around for the longest time, but it's hard to find stuff. Been using Comodo for ages, but never had problems getting things to work before... How come this stuff don't give a pup up like normal, asking me if I'll allow it or not?

I suspect apple airplay feature is going to become a big hit, so getting it to work should be a priority for the good guys at Comodo. Just in case they read along!

Thanks Kasper

There is no activity in any of the logs when this is happening. This also happens when Defense+ and Firewall are completely disabled (D+ "permanently deactivated". The problem only goes away after uninstalling. As soon as I reinstall again (default options) iTunes connectivity (bonjour) starts getting blocked. If you still need screenshots, lemme know.

I think my problem is exactly the same as this one here:

Maybe you might wanna check again. Everything here works sporadically. One time I open iTunes, and it works, close it and open again, and it doesn't. Once I got to pair the remote to the library, it works, but try several times by first erasing your saved library from your iPhone/iPod Touch and you'll probably see that when pairing again, sometimes (or most of the time maybe) your iTunes either won't detect the remote, or it will stall after you input the code. Sometimes it will also just work.

Uninstall CPF and it all works perfectly. I'm having this in my two PCs, one HP DV5 and one desktop I built myself, both on Win 7-64.

Are those applicable even when "Defense+ Security Level" is on "Disabled" and "Deactivate the Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart)" option is checked? "Sandbox Security Level" is also set to "Disabled", but I thought that only worked if Defense+ was not permanently disabled.

I have also uninstalled/reinstalled and started from default settings with the same results. Several times, on both PCs. It's strange that it's not completely blocking bonjour/iTunes though. It does it sometimes, but I can't replicate it working always. I restart iTunes, and it will work sometimes. When I uninstall CIS, iTunes/bonjour response is immediate and always works.

Either way, there's something wrong with CIS, cause even if iTunes/bonjour were somehow being blocked unbeknownst to me, they should always be blocked. If CIS is disabled, they should never be blocked.

It seems obvious that CIS is not completely transparent when disabled. This is a wild guess, but is it possible that it's introducing some delays or something, causing these particular processes to time out most of the time?

I am having the same issue. Win XP Pro SP3. Like described before, Airplay with iTunes does not work or only in some rare cases. With the non-Apple product Airfoil it works, though. Very strange indeed. Has anybody solved the issue?

What I tried was to create a global rule for incoming + outgoing TCP + UDP traffic. If the source is my Airport Express's MAC address and the source network is my (W)LAN, I allow everything. I made it the first global rule. The (W)LAN is not trusted because sometimes I am in an untrusted network with the same IP range.

I gave up, I dont have time to wait this out. I removed CIS from my computers.  Undecided Now I'm running Avast anti-virus and Zone alarm firewall. Aside from an annoying pup up to upgrade zone alarm to the paid version, it seams to be OK and airplay is working like a charm!

I'll go back to CIS once this is sorted out!!

I have the same problem, worked great before.  Then I upgraded both Comodo and Itunes and noticed I cannot see my wife or daughters Itunes share any longer.  My daughter did the same and has the same issue.  My wife (who is on a mac ) can see us.  I have Itunes and Bonjour as trusted apps. (I even tried making the Bonjour(mdnsresponder) into a windows system application) I love and have recommended CIS for sometime, but I am dreading updates lately.  I tried the stealth with nothiing popping up.  Very frustrated.

I had the same problem, but I was able to get itunes sharing to work by putting the firewall and defense + in to training mode and rebooting.

I never got CIS working with iTunes Airplay. back then and it was never working while CIS was installed, at one point I got Airfoil working, but that was just that one time!
I'm right now running Zone Alarm, with Avast. It works for airplay but Zone Alarm is messing up the iPhone Sync process, so before hooking up iPhones, iPod or iPads, I have to remember to disable Zone Alarm. They say they are working on a fix for this, but if Comodo did fix CIS and airplay in the meantime I don't have to wait for Zone Alarm to get fixed, I could just go back to CIS.
