AV Scanners update daily, yet every day i see there is no update available.
Avast is the AV on this netbook, because have used it for years, and am comfortable with it. CIS is my firewall, and have Vengine.
How could it be that Comodos AV scanner never has an update? I got it in the first place with the hopsurf toolbar,  Is the assumption this scanner updates less than one time a week, at best, (have never seen an update), or that it is not installed properly, or that is does not work at all?
Got the Hopsurf toolbar at the same time reinstalled Comodo firewall after the recent update.

So, one would think, either somethings not installed right, or it's useless.
Now just going through the motions when run it from time to time?

This does not inspire to start running the regular CIS Anti-virus. How to have confidence? The Avast always works, and updates, etc., is strong, and the boot time scan feature there is something i feel is very good.

Happy for what i have, and thankful for the Comodo Firewall and Vengine, miss BOclean. Hopsurf and it's AV scanner are about ready to get canned here.

Hello kwonawa.
I assume your talking about CIS  and not the web based scanner?  (Mod please move this in the correct board)

When you open Comodo, It should say when it was last updated. Also you can click on Misc -> About
To check what database it's using.

Also you may be interested in looking at this

I think kwonawa is refering to the part of the Hop-Surf toolbar which has the AV Scanner button on it.

I myself have just downloaded the scanner and noticed after the initial ~87MB download the database version is 1157, which if i recall correctly is the same as version 3.10.xx initial download.
So why is the web based scanner not at version 1678?
