I've seen a semi-newsletter from comod to my account before listing their top 5 reasons for online security and such.  I would love to be on a mailing list where my phone will go beep beep beep, you have one new message; Comodo CIS beta is ready for your sexy dance testing party.

So, a lot people have been mistaken during all this time, since SafeSurf came out. Even moderators (https://forums.comodo.com/comodo_safesurf_and_comodos_own_toolbar/comodo_safesurf_toolbar_info-t24180.0.html;msg184868#msg184868) thought that the version, which comes bundled with CIS, protected the whole system.

I was led to believe this also Sad. If I had known, I wouldn't have installed SafeSurf along with CIS and used CMF instead. Oh well, at least the new version (be it beta) is around the corner Grin.

Egemen is on holidays but should be back on Friday [...]There was also a holiday today in the Comodo Ukraine Office

They 100% deserve their holiday!  (L)

What is the engineer behind the new signature format? Will it reduce entries to the database? How will it make the scanning faster and more efficient??
good question Smiley
this is why we are updating our signature format so that we can simply update heuristic part without having to update the whole product.. however, that doesn't mean that some heuristics can be done simply this way.
Melih

Melih also stated numerous other benefits like better cleaning ability, faster scanning, and less resource usage. (don't know how though...it just does.)  Wink

CIS is already light now, and New sig format will reduce overall RAM even further too...

But the new features will raise the RAM up again, I guess. Tongue

But it did slow down defrag performance and registry scans. Do you think this will be improved as well with the new format?

Yes I do.

And if not, be sure to report it in the first few beta's before the final is out. Wink

EDIT: Looks like Egemen is back from Holidays, Cheesy (9th, Jan)...

Josh

Why you little... Police Police Police Police... Wave
I will be amazed if comodo can keep the resource usage low. So many effecient components in a single security suite..

EDIT: I am looking forward to the part when we get to test out CIS, I would love to see what the people who said "Comodo is a good Firewall, when they branch out into other areas it won't work","Comodo should just stick at what they are good at, firewalls"

I want to see what those people will have to say  Cheesy

This seems to be a bug only affecting the 64 bit version, since i swapped out the hard drives on my second machine between vista x64 & xp x86.
