here's one. i know there are others.

http://forums.comodo.com/feedbackcommentsannouncementsnews_cis/development_activities_for_cis_closed-t31974.0.html;msg228904#msg228904

maybe we can ask him to write a more formal and informative one for Wikipedia?

Thanks for that.

One other thing that I think needs to be worked on is the whole SafeSurf/Memory Firewall thing. I'm a bit hazy on what the distinction between them is, and the wiki page says that Safesurf is a reworked version of the memory firewall, yet the memory firewall is being implemented in the beta (why is it being implemented in the beta if a reworked version is already included). It would be good if somebody could clear up that section, and make clear the distinction between the two of them.

SS only protects browsers and CMF protects all applications.
i would say wait until the current beta is final in a few weeks so then all you have to explain is how CMF is integrated into CIS. Smiley

Be sure to remember to update the info as needed when there are new releases, we don't want people to get bad info.

Quote from: Wikipedia
All CIS components are optional when installing, meaning that you could choose which of the various components you do not want, upon initial installation.
Defense+ is not optional when installing (it is in the Components list)…

If someone wants to upload a Defense+ warning, I have attached one (caused by Adobe Digital Editions 1.6!).

I can't upload images.. =/ but seems like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CIS-Red-Alert.png that pic is from D+.
anyway..

I added a redirect for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comodo_Internet_Security
So if people type that in they get to the right page!

Also added a stub about matousec. (now I finally understands how you do the reference thing.. not that hard once you get a grasp of it!)

Awesome guys! Great. Keep it up!  Clapping

You can also add these pictures from the CIS beta I put in the first post in the photo gallery:

https://forums.comodo.com/beta_corner_cis/comodo_internet_security_3561373458_beta_qas_faqs_feedback_screenshots-t33174.0.html

Just say what each picture is like I have there in that thread, but shorten is like "Buffer Overflow Alert" and "AV Heuristics Settings" etc. Sorry I'm only a novice at Wikipedia editing and creating, otherwise would of done them my self.

Cheers,
Josh

Some good pictures there!
But I can't upload.

I really like the new beta look, it looks somewhat more professional.

SafeSurf is a reworked version of Comodo's Memory Firewall, designed to protect against buffer overflows and the infamous Return-to-libc attack. SafeSurf and Memory Firewall protect all applications.[7] Memory Firewall has been implemented and is being tested in the latest CIS beta.

^correction..

AFAIK
SS is for the webbrowser and memory firewall is all applications. CMF is known to have issues on some systems and they made SS to deal with browsers (which is alot "safer") until a updated CMF is ready to be released. (Currently in BETA testing..)

Are you sure? It seems that some mods think that SS protects all apps....also the GUI gives that impression.

Quote from: Help File
....Comodo developed SafeSurf explicitly to protect end-users from these kinds of attacks whilst they browse the Internet. After installation, the program will monitor and protect the memory space of all applications that are running on your system and immediately block any buffer overflow attacks....
