Hi All,
Today we are going to make a change in AV updates and it will cause all AV users to download complete bases.cav (~96MB).

One question:  For how long old style of bases.cav will be working? [I mean 2 things: 1) doing it's job without engine update, 2) being updated].  If some clients doesn't update its engine, CAV will stop working/receiving new signatures?

(if some customers just have it's signature update working in automactic, will it still working for how long?)

Quite confusing logchange for v579, as it says... sorry!

Hi Lord Ami,
Could you please provide us with details about this error here?

I've PMed you dump file that CIS created for error report.
Unfortunately I don't remember what error poped up. Something "....failed to initialize. Error 0x...."
It has happened 2 or more times to be honest. CIS fails to start at first time after program update (after first boot). After second boot, it's back to normal. Not sure what might cause this.
Windows XP Ultimate 32-bit, all updates installled.

So what happens if you don't want to upgrade right now to you still get the updated DB and if so then why the need for a new build?

Urm just a small question. You mention these new files are about 96MB - does that mean every day CIS is going to be downloading 100MB files or is that just a one off?

Only asking because I'm on quite a tight bandwidth limit.

If you run the "updater" it will download the "fresh" bases.cav so the full update will probably be around 100MB yes...

But will it download those on a one off basis (ie I've just downloaded them, will it do it again tomorrow?)?
