Endy, dearest of all my friends, thank you for quoting me but I
have
test-driven the new version since. I wasn't wrong though, the problem still persisted.
Now I've become aware of that
performance analysis tool
, so I'm going to bother reinstalling 3.10 again to check the problem tonight or tomorrow night with it, and then I hope I'll have the final answer to the question as to what's the cause.

Hi Guys,
I think i need to say the final word about this DPC issue: 3.10 is a simple update and this issue has NOT been reported as fixed. The issue is related to Windows Vista and solution involves a lot of changes.
IF we switch to using the OLD technology you will not see this issue for sure but lose your network throughtput etc.
We are working on the issue and will update Firewall when it is done. This is not just a typo in the GUI. It is a complex issue related to the changes introduced with the new networking of Windows Vista. As I said before, in this version, you may or may not notice improvements but thats it. You will still observe the issue if you use MULTIPLE connection making systems such as WEB servers, FTP servers, TORERENT clients with significant traffic for a long time.
We are working on this issue so please follow the release notes of releases in the future to see if it is fixed or not.

Does that mean you will
not
need feedback with the performance analysis tool?
Just asking, because I was planning to give it a try soon. If you don't need info anymore, I'll just skip doing it.

Thank you, Egemen, for this report. I consider this issue now closed until further notice, as should everyone else.

Sure please feel free to PM me the report. If you can also describe the testing steps, tools you used etc, it will be much better.
Thanks,

I just finished installing COMODO Internet Security 3.10.102194.530 and everything went seamlessly and smoothly and without so much as 1 alert! The only problem I encountered in the whole process was that my Vista computer requires that I turn off UAC in order to be able to export or import configurations. I now have Virus Signature Database 1555 on board and I'm ready to roll as it. And what a download it was...almost 2 minutes according to my Bandwidth Meter Pro...

PS- My computer has been running and connected to the internet now for over 2 hours and there has not been one single intrusion attempt recorded by CIS 3.10 whereas I had over 4,200 just the other day in a 16 hour period when I was running CIS 3.9. Does this have to do with the new Network Security Policy Global Rules?

That's always been that way for a weird reason (maybe self-security), but you're not right.
Close Comodo, find it again (by perhaps typing "como" in Start Menu Search), right-click, and Run as Administrator.
This way, the interface will have the privileges you need to export and import, and you won't need to lose UAC.

Delphin- Thanks for the help, but I have tried the method you described as well as the alternative method of right clicking on the Comodo shortcut icon to gain administrative rights as another member suggested earlier. I repeated each of these methods many times over in order to aviod having to reboot the computer 2 more times, but the UAC on my Vista RTM computer stubbornly refuses the export or import of Comodo configurations unless the UAC is defeated.

PS- Its been 5 hours now since I installed CIS 3.10 and the number of Firewall blocked intrusion attempts is still 0! On a busy day the Firewall in CIS 3.9 would have already blocked over 1,300 intrusion attempts by now. Has the Comodo Firewall been beefed up in CIS 3.10 or is it possible that it is just not counting intrusion attempts any longer?

I'm surprised you're not seeing anything at all, but I'm also surprised you were seeing so many before.
To a greater of lesser extent, the number of intrusion attempts you see will depend upon your rules.

The frequent system freezes I was experiencing when scanning are fixed and I'm down to 2 FP's. However, it again took over 15 hours to update the AV DB after a clean install.

I never get any firewall intrusion attempts logged and never have since 3.8 with the exception of svchost showing incoming from my router. I allowed that and haven't seen anything since. I'm just going with the default logging which only seems to log things that are blocked.

Believe me I am as surprised as you are at this wide gamut. I would normally see 300-500 Firewall blocked intrusion attempts in a day when there were no entries under Firewall Global Rules in CIS 3.9, but now in CIS 3.10 there are these new rules and I'm wondering if they are causing the number of blocked intrusion attempts to drop to 0...

Try running the Stealth Ports Wizard to stealth your system. Now see how many entries you get.

EricJH- I ran the Shields Up tests earlier today and passed with all 1000+ of the ports tested as being stealth. I finally did get 11 blocked intrusion attempts during the Comodo Leak test which CIS 3.10 passed 340/340.
I would use the Stealth Port Wizard, but I am reluctant to take on the task of completely redefining the network in order to use it. Would you happen to know what the impact of these new Global Rules which now appear in CIS 3.10 but didn't appear in my version of CIS 3.9 are?
Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining in fact I am quite pleased to see 0 attempted intrusions whenever I open CIS 3.10! Whatever CIS 3.10 is now doing different it sure beats watching the Firewall intrusion attempt counter hit over 4,000 in just 16 1/2 hours as it did in my old CIS 3.9 which had no Global Firewall Rules listed...
