Not true. That's classic marketing BS. I downloaded an alternative free (and very popular) AV software and I find it better. For one thing my computer isn't slow anymore like it was when Comodo was running. Also, I don't have an issue anymore with the software taking over my computer and globbling up 99% of my resources because of a cmdagent.exe issue which is what prompted me to dump Comodo. Turns out this is not the first time users got hosed with this issue. I found posts going back to 2007 regarding the cmdagent.exe issue taking over all computer resources.

Shame on you guys !!!!!!
Speaking of cmdagent.exe, can someone help me with that? https://forums.comodo.com/anti_virus_bugs/cmdagentexe_eating_up_cpu-t48597.0.html;new#new

Common guys... why are you dissecting the marketing blob. EVERY company on earth puts it out. And so do individuals - we all use self-promotion as a means to an end. This is exactly what pickup lines are, this is what marketing campaigns are. Grow up. Just because you have a voice dont mean you talk crap.

On another note, I would love to see an add - "Hi, Install our AV. It detects 78.989% of the viruses out there, as per a static test. We are certified by ITSA, JKSA, KMSA, CIT, RKT, WJR, JK, KJ, LK, KK, P, Q, R, S, T, U... and any other acronym you might think of. no biggie.

Our program uses 95% CPU while loading the database into memory and it sometimes (once a year, maybe twice if the company's name starts with an A) comes with a FP (no sir, not fruit pulp, a false positive *smiling*. Its a positive which is false, confused dont be. It simply means that we thought its a virus but actually its not. no biggie). This might results in a total re-install of your OS. Dont worry atleast the other 364 days we protected you from 'stuff' .. ok maybe that one time we were late in coming out with a sig which resulted in a os reinstall. no biggie.

If you do, HIGHLY unlikely, get infected please blame the operating system as that's where the security hole exits.  email: security[at]hole.microsoft.com CC: billy[at]willy.com. no biggie.

Also we charge $40 a year but on special days we might give our 'stuff' out for free.. no biggie.

ps. dont call us: we are based out of a garage."

no biggie...

Are you referring to me talking crap? I hope not.  I'm only forwarding what comodo writes on their website\comodo tv.

Perhaps it was my comment about being "BS?" Well if you can Show me some proof  I'll happily close the thread Smiley Sure you will get results with Comodo IS. Not CAVS though, as the promotion clearly states Antivirus.

Most vendors have a page where it displays the wards one, certificates and what not.
Here is an example.

Has a whole bunch of references at the bottom.. maybe it should really be added to the wishlist  Smiley

no no. it was a general statement - everyone talks crap me included.  Tongue

I just meant that, those statements by comodo is a marketing ploy, not to be taken literally. All companies use this tactic.

I was making a subtly point - who cares about anything except one thing - Protection. Bottom line. Whatever give you that you use it.

!ot!I used sbie for 1.5 years before ditching it. (moving to x64 plus wanted an anti-executable type approach. i can, currently, only implement that with d+. i'd b happy if someone can tell me another way. and no srp). i dont use any av.

cheers.

I can't help you sorry.     Maybe Firefox and No-Script might be another alternative? would only protect you from the web browser threat gate though.   You'll probably have to make another thread about it.

Anyway, Locking thread  Cheesy

There is no test that I'm aware of that tests Comodo Antivirus by it self against "Expensive Security Suites"...    This is pure BS lol.

Though I understand that Comodo Antivirus is often taken out of context whenever it seemingly refer to the whole Antivirus product itself (Defense+ is also part of Antivirus Only installation) there are also topics like The End of Antivirus? which seemingly refer to the detection approaches while not focusing on any specific brand (along with statements apparently wishing for sandboxes and behavior blockers) .

Thats good, Another one to add to the list. Though it isn't AMTSO compliant.
Maybe searching the forums will provide results about such tests already available and the one you created a poll for.
