So. The eternal question... When will it be released?  Smiley

Soon - very soon.

The mods beta test has shown several areas that need refinement but there are no real showstoppers to date. I can't discuss what has or has not been found/fixed, as code development and refinement is powering ahead beyond the revision we are playing with. For all we know, the things we've found have already been corrected.

Suffice to say, it's good.

Very, very good!

One cat I think I can let out of the bag - think even smaller and lighter than CFP !!! This may change, but I somehow doubt it.

Cheers,
Ewen :-)

When the beta is released play nice with the other kids! No yelling, pushing, tripping, eye gouging, or bad language while in line to download.    Police

Hi Guys.

Here are some Questions we as Moderators have asked Melih, and These are Melih's reponses.

Does CIS/CAV3 Support Email Clients? What about detecting viruses in P2P?

Quote from: Melih
no plugins for emails etc... but if its just doing file scan then you don't need it as you have on access. Anything that hits your HD will be checked. And soon we will have the in-memory scanner in cav3, so you can catch in memory malware too that doesn't hit your hd. So the point is: no point in adding yet another scanning burden on email for a file if you have on access and in memory scanning, cos malware has to hit either one.  However, email scanning would be great for us to put our name on each email saying: protected by comodo etc.. Smiley

Melih

Where is the Heuristics for CIS/CAV3?

Quote from: Melih
heuristic is not default because we want to be ready to handle any FPs within very short period of time and today we are not. Will take us few months to put that infrastructure back and when we do then it will be default

Melih

Some Settings such as Defense+\Advanced\Defense+Settings\Monitor Settings are NOT "ticked" (CFP v3 stand a lone has them all ticked there), Is there a reason why these aren't ticked?

Quote from: Melih
because we put extra protection using AV architecture, we have eased off on D+ in places.

thanks
Melih

Melih, There seems to be only 2 processes: cfp.exe (GUI) & cmdagent.exe (service) with CIS. It's like you guys added an AV TAB to the CFP 3 interface, and everything else is almost the same as CFP 3.

Though this does detect the EICAR test file though! And CIS seems to be faster then CFP!!

Quote from: Melih
And that is the Genuis behind it!!!!  Nerd

I did tell you guys we would be building a very FAST, EFFICIENT, Well ARCHITECTED and totally INTEGRATED AV. And here you have it! Check the RAM consumption and speed of it and yes its running full AV engine and full on access (which means its checking every hard disk activity!). Now that is the Genius that makes a difference imo!

We have a high standard for quality software and I can honestly say that this quality standard keeps rising.

I don't remember saying we will stop improving CFP!!  Kewl
We have improved CFP architecture even further! FYI: CAV lives in cmdagent.

Melih

Well Guys... It's outstanding! CAV3 is actually built into cmdagent.exe it self!! Also in CIS as you know there is a new version of CFP 3 for bug fixes, there are also Defense+ improvements, etc. You won't need to worry why some D+ Settings are not ticked because the AV covers them! Smiley

Also in the future, In Memory detections will be added. Therefore, You won't need to worry about all these email plugins, etc. Because a virus needs to hit the HD or Memory, So only these 2 are needed.

Melih is saying 12 months to say "We are one of the best AV". This suite will continue to grow!

This is the best Intergrated, ARCHITECTED, effective, FASTEST Suite I have tried to date!

So we don't have screen shots for just CAV3? Is CIS being released with CAV3 integrated, and later become a stand alone product?

Yes.

Here is stand a lone CAV3. Don't forget CAV3 also has HIPS. So if you choose to install only CAV3, You will get the picture below, with D+ But as you can see there is no FW!

THATS PROGRAMMING! Smiley

The public beta will be very stable.

Why not give it a try? :-) We are hoping for it to only be quick beta anyway! Memory Usage? Have you seen the Screen Shots... CAV3 doesn't even need another process in CIS. Still finding out what the process name for stand a lone CAV is though... Dunno if the name is same or different. But as you can see there are only cfp.exe and cmdagent.exe where CAV3 is in cmdagent & actually reduces resources.

Hello.

Hehe... The System tray icon is the same as CFP 3. However if it's not changed before the public beta can you put it in the wish list. Myself and Mods will keep you guys posted.

Ohh btw... You can disable those arrows by right click sys tray icon>Show Tray Animation (Make sure its not ticked).

Also heres the Alert for EICAR Test file! Smiley

Josh

Impressive!! Not even downloaded yet. Detected in FF3's ".part" file... blows my mind... can't wait for CIS to be out... soooooo happy!!!

That's crazy! Look at the memory usage! How is that possible?!  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Comodo you have just made a product in in such a short time that others have been making for 20 years, And they can't even compare speed to you.
