Huh so Huh then you don't need CAVS2 since the HIPS part can be replaced with Defense+.
use avast along with CFP3 (w/Defense+) for now  Thumb Up & wait for CAVS3  Thumb Up

An option to preserve last access timestamps (just like NOD32 v. 3), because there are programs out there using these (ie. systemboosterXP, UltimateDefrag, Perfectdisk or a similar program). A scan of the entire HDD should not change the last access timestamps, because this is not a true usage:

Quote
Some antivirus programs and desktop search and indexing
programs update the Last Access times of files that they scan and index.
Technically this contravenes Microsoft’s suggested practice for updating
Last Access time stamps since it is not a true “normal use” access.

The rest is already on the wish list Wink

Please post features that you would like in future versions of Comodo Anti-ViruSpyware.

Hi!  I am a very new user of Comodo Anti Virus and have a problem the I believe makes CAV almost unusable!

CAV has defined itself as the default application to "open" any file; so that when I double-click on a text file rather than open it with my default text editor I have CAV asking me if I wan't to scan the file for viruses (viruses in a plain text file?).  This means that I have to 'right-click' EVERY file and open it with the required application rather than double-click and open with the default application - VERY ANNOYING!

See http://forums.comodo.com/help_for_comodo_antivirus/cavs_and_shell_integration_context_menu-t23098.0.html for more details.

Can someone please look at this problem and advise how it can be resolved?

Regards,
Peter

Nothing wrong with the beta but the following critical issues i missed:

An webguard
An script checker
An cookie checker
Blocking Tracing cookies
Web content filtering
Registry and critical files protection

The beta does his job but not enough too many malware can infected the system when you are not using the Firewall 3.0 Pro i have temporarily used an another firewall for testing CAV 2.0 beta i was really  surprised Comodo's own firewall blocks threats while this firewall i will not mention the name but it belongs to the top 5 doesn't block the threats CAV 2.0 detected the danger and removed it thats why i use CAV 2.0 with the heuristic in the high modus.

CAV 2.0 beta is good but Comodo must create plugins for better protection and more preventing but for an free product i am really happy.

hi,

first thank you for providing your great products for free  Love Comodo

what I wish to see is a boot scan as I believe it can be the most effective and an infected pc installation suppose that your pc is full of viruses if you downloaded a hundred  anti-virus it all will be in vain as it will get corrupted/modified will this installation make the av installation aggressive (nothing can stop it nor modifies/check the files while its being installed) restart and boot scan cleaning the pc Marry and to add original image of system files with the av so when it catches a virus it can clean it effectively as deleting system infected files will result in a problem  Shocked

HI all!

Cavs should come with onboard optional themes, multiple languages, build in virus and spyware dictionary, immunization features for webbrowsers, safe and backup configuration option.

I think this will be reality when CIS (Comodo internet security) comes out!
