Not sure if this has been mentioned already or not, but as for an ad blocker I would be happy if Comodo would just allow users to find a blacklist site like bluetack etc.  But it would be nice to have an auto update.  Managing cookies would be nice too.  But cookies are getting ever so more complicated that they circumvent many cookie managers.

But there are hardly any free cookie managers that work for Vista (besides Ccleaner- and it is not a real time cookie manager).  Being able to have a basic ad blocker and cookie manager would be great for people using IE.  I use IE7pro now and it's ad blocking ability is so-so.  And it has hardly any configuration to block flash ads.

I like the whois suggestion.  I have tried PC Tools firewall and although it lacks some advanced features it has one great attribute.  That is that on outbound attempts the name of the site is listed, not just the IP address.  That saves a ton of time trying to figure out where the connection is going and whether it is wanted or not.  A whois would be nice but an added feature would be some way to search the site on google to see if the site is mentioned in malware forums or to find out more about the site.  I remember when I had PC Tools firewall I noticed my Dell computer was attempting to access some sites I had recently visited, specifically trying to connect to some advertising or photos on those sites (I think it was sportsline and myspace and a few others).  Had the firewall not alerted me to this I would have just thought my Dell was looking for updates from Dell or something like that.

1- IP Blocking - and or collaboration with Phoenixlabs so Bluetack lists and BLM arrays can be used is by far my foremost wanted feature.

2- Who-Is Lookup directly from the firewall log itself with a simple right-click should be built in.

3- DNS resolution should be built in.

4- Plug-in architecture should be coded to allow for the inclusion or exclusion of any and all plug-ins at admin discretion.

5- Ad blocking, cookie handling, referrer handling??? I use Firefox and i NEVER see ads, always block referrers and my cookies are handled the way I want them to because i use a superior and competent browser. No need for redundancy.

6- Default HTTP logging could make for a bloated folder to keep those logs as well as extra CPU cycles some may not want, ergo a need to make ALL "plug-ins" optional.

7- Anti-dialer? People still use phone-lines to access the internet??? Okay. Doesn't a working firewall worth its own salt detect and prevent that anyway? If CFP doesn't do that out of the box, then perhaps we should all re-consider. My experience with CFP is that it is an angry pit bull on crack that's TOO STRONG at times. It doesn't allow NADA to get by with proper configuration.
