hello, i don't know if it was allready posted cause i didnt read the 34 pages.
but what we really need absolutly is a keylogger detection.
not just an alert that an app wants to access the keyboard but a real keylogger detection with a red alert telling this thing is a leylogger and a malware and must be blocked.
we miss this point deeply in comodo.
if u can do anything about that, so YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway, if u set comodo firewall to custome, with alert settings very high
and defense+ to paranoid and image ex control settings to aggressive with file to check : executables,
there's not a firewall able to protect u to this level.
there are other good firewalls, but none is equal or better than comodo.
and i tested a lot, and a freeware like that with this level of protection, give me an example of a freeware with the level of comod
if there was a log window events like the one in jetico 1.0, it would be terific.
now u need to learn how to use comodo and your machine will be a fortress.

and i wonder if comodo FW pro PLUS would be better than my actual kasper AV...
i'm thinkin about testing it...i'm not sure.
what people with pro PLUS think about it? is it equal as kasper AV ?

ok defense+ is great.
kaspersky is updated, i scan the .exe i found : nothing.
i launch the file : defense+ showed me what i was sure of, this file is a virus. it wanted to create keys in registry and create new dll in system32.
guess the name of the dll : _ProxyM.dll

i submited the file to comodo.

online page scanners results : all AV failed except arcavir and ikarus.
so all AV people say are great are just crap AV.
no one never mentions arcavir or ikarus.

on the site virustotal, 4/32 found it : panda,F-secure,ikarus & webwasher-gateway.

I dont know if this has been posted anywhere, or if the developers are aware of this, but I wanted to point out that there is a minor misspelling in the "tip of the day". It reads as follows:

"Did you know that you Firewall has its own Diagnostics utility which can automatically fix many errors in your installation?"

it says "you" instead of "your"

I already used three Firewall softs. for my PC before. So I could give CPF 5 stars. Exclude the skins though, I'm not really a fan of software skinz.

Comodo Firewall Pro should be able to create a temp game /server/ rules The application rules should have been created automatically  by CPF  Star

Edited

What i meant to say is that when a gamer decides or wants to "host" a gaming server temporarly CPF should automatically create the rules     sorry for the confusion Smiley

This is what happens when you click ALLOW but not REMEMBER. The resulting rukle applies only to the current session.

Couple of things that would make CFP easier to use:

Installation mode on R-click of icon; warning for switching out of Installation mode coming to the top - it's too easy to miss the icon on the task bar (my open apps. show only the icon, not a long button).

I have only been runing the Comodo Firewall for a week or so, functionally it is very rich and the user interface is, the help text is excellent (is it available as a PDF manual, if not I might make one)

However I find its performance disappointing.  I have it installed on a fairly good system, an E6600 Dual Core CPU on a Gigabyte P965 board with 3GB RAM, 2 * 250 WD SATA disks, 512KB PX7300 Graphics adapter driving a 23" IBM tube.  To get acceptable performance I have had to disable Image Execution Control and set Defense+ settings to Training which IMO compromises my system in that it removes one and severely cripples another one of the protective measures that Comodo incorporates.

But I've still got my training wheels on so I am hopeful I can get it sorted soon.

I bit the bullet and tore everything down, including a reset of the router back to factory settings , then I put it all back together from the outside in, making sure that I installed, fully configured and calibrated each protective layer before installing another.

I'm not entirely sure just what was in conflict with what, but the performance issues have evaporated.  I have most of the the tools I want installed and running (one to go, waiting on a patch from vendor), browsing speeds are excellent even with a couple of downloads and some torrents running - superb

Rated Comodo Firewall 5.0 - as it's great software.

Need to say it should change COLOR when Firewall is DISABLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I temp disabled Defensive Sheild, but actually disabled the Firewall. Not good.

SUGGESTIONS:
White = Firewall = ON
Black = Firewall + Defensive Sheild = ON
Orange = Firewall ONLY
Blue = Firewall SAFE
Red = TRAINING
Transparent Icon = DISABLED

^ theres a reason for that, Comodo recognizes that if you want to turn something off, then you really want to turn something off, not nag you with a flashing toolbar icon (unlike a certain other AV that has a yellow icon with a globe Wink )

Though it would be nice to at least add something that will inform you that the firewall is disabled or you have been in training mode for too long. (Most common problem I ran into  Thinking)

Good Work Comodo, been using CFP since November, not coming off my PC anytime soon. Viva Comodo

Well, I never get tired of saying Comodo is great! I have just tried CFP and Comodo Backup, but they are great.

  However, I would like to have more Predefinied Firewall Policies, or at least, more "how to configure..." some apps, in this forum.

 As an example, I got a warning about an incoming connection to Mozilla Thunderbird, from a IP from Taiwan. Since I use TB with gmail, I thought I should block that connection. I don't remember exactly what I modified, but next time I tried to check for Thunderbird addons updates, it didn't work. I put CFP in training mode, tried again, and this time I had no problem. I searched a bit the forum, and found TB should be configured as "web browser". I deleted Thunderbird rules, added it again, and then I saw there is a "Email Client" predefinied policy, and of course I chose that one. I don't know why I didn't chose that one before, maybe it was introduced in a software update after I configured Thunderbird, or maybe I just made a mistake. The point is, when I searched the forum,  the answers I found didn't say anything about "email client", but they said "web browser".

  Also, it would be very good if the list of Application Rules (under Network Security Policy) could be improved a little, to make it easier to find the application rule we want to edit (maybe order by name, or by policy...)

  Finally, I agree with Azucareros about it would be nice if there was a reminder about "you have been in training mode for a long time". I also agree with Liquid Fusion about the tray icon should show if the firewall or defense+ is disabled. Sometimes I disable defense+ to troubleshoot something that is not working, or to upgrade some app... and sometimes I forget to re-enable it. A visual aid would solve it, without the need to use pop up reminders.

  Finally, congratulations for the archivement in Matousec Firewall Challenge, you beat them all 2 times in a row! (2 times since I found that comparative site, I don't know if you did it too in previous tests)
