In addition an all writed, I like that when you  add a new trusted application cpf show a directory / file browser, more a second button for browser for process running in memory for select and automaticly cpf cath the path of the process. Is more easy configuring cpf! Grin

Another small feature that would be neat is if the user could double click just about anywhere on the pop-ups and send them back to there default location (bottom right).

Edit: It would also be nice if in the Connections window, old connections were displayed for a user configured amount of time.  Possibly slightly faded, or red?

I Just wanted to add something.

As I said earlier, CPF is a pretty good piece of software since in my opinion it makes a good system resource handling without bloating or eating many system resources, specially RAM.

Indeed when you start your computer CPF consumes between 20-30 MB but as you use your computer and I suppose that as you open more applications ergo requiring more RAM, CPF releases RAM and in my case I've seen it around 6 MB !!! wich is great.

Many of us, the users, can tell that the software industry is becoming less efficient and more resource eating. for example new software versions can take as double as RAM as their prior version does and also the same for CPU Cycles. Is a fact that the addition of new features = more resources but many software developers never optimize the software and with each new version it becames a monster that eats our valuable system resources.

Well, that's not the case for Comodo Group, at least I can say that for the CPF it's a good developed piece of software and I'm grateful for that  Wink

Keep the good work and as Ajohn said. An option to make donations sounds great.

I really hope to see CPF as the top of software web sites like www.download.com
or www.majorgeeks.com

greetings

Yes, Comodo deserves to be much better known.

Another small suggestion:  Ability to classify programs as e-mail, browser, ftp, ect.

Also, I noticed download.com doesnt show the most recent version...

Edit: Yet another feature that would be helpfull is the ability to delete rules with the BackSpace/Delete keys.

Also, when creating rules via the pop-ups, they seem to make rather general rules.  It would be nice if you were able to create custom rules or even make the Allow button only  create a rule for the specific connection in question.  This kinda goes along with my request for the ability to trust applications via pop-ups and classify them.

I personally would just like a quicker start up,and less memory useage. I now occaisionally get pages hanging for a short while before loading (after a little while of net use), and I am running 1 gig RAM and an Athlon cpu running at 2.8gig.

I would also like to see the launch pad an optional allowance, as well as full user control of the auto update.

It would be nice if certain pop up alerts (such as when an invisible appl. trys access) were red .
It would get my attention quicker. Smiley

Another small request, ability to refresh/restart the firewall, or apply rule changes.

Get rid of the launchpad app & make the tray icon open the firewall instead of having to go thru the menu's just to open the firewall.

Get it to use less resources that it presently does & fix cmdagent so it doesnt hog the CPU (on my box it uses upto 50% of the CPU which causes very noticable drag if doing anything else or even if the PC is sitting idle.

Make the network monitor tell U how long a program has been runnin or connected.

Update the help files as they are very basic & dont go into all the features.

To imporve it, now after using CPF for a while I recommend  what banzi said:

improve the system resources management and use
specially fix the cmdagent.exe issue. it's not possible that it consumes so much CPU and also uses much the HD.

Small but important feature request:  Ability to not only trust applications network wise, but also component, advanced features wise.  An example of how this would be usefull is when using programs such as Anti-Hook or ProcessGuard with CPF.  It seems necessary to be able to exclude these from any limitations/pop-ups for the user to be able to use in conjunction without answering questions 24/7.

Hi again. I'm not sure if it's possible to add this feature:

a download & upload indicator, this is very usefull to know if our internet connection is idle or it'w working... I know one can see that by placing an icon for the network adapter on the tray.

I've seen that ZoneAlarm and Kerio firewalls both have such feature, the info is diplayed on the program systray icon.

Since those two programs feature that I think this is not a copyright feature.

That's my opinion.
