You can apply a policy temporarily in an alert.  Uncheck 'remember my answer' when choosing a predefined policy.
Really? In that case checkbox 'remember my answer' must be unchecked by default in 'installation mode' because the task of most installers is finished since the installation is done.

P.S. Try to install smth yourself with unchecked 'remember my answer' and pls tell us how many times you were asked by D+ ))

Well I just reinstalled Windows with all drivers and programs. You just have to uncheck it once, after that COMODO will remember that choice and it will be unchecked by default. Defense+ switches to installation mode and you don't have to click anything any more until installation is over and you want to install next program/driver.
After that when you start using computer when it asks you about some rule you want to remember just check "Remember my answer" and remembering will be default.
So answer to your question Smiley is one time per installation unless it's first or last installation in a row where you have to check/uncheck "Remember my answer", switch too and back from installation mode.
1 click: Defining it as installation

But your proposal has merit and it would be great to implement remembering of unchecked/checked rule remembering for different definitions.
Example: If you uncheck it in "Installer or Updater" it will keep it for only that kind of programs, so when I want to define "Trusted application" there I can check/uncheck it without influencing other definitions.

So each definition of program could have one extra binary value added. 1 checked, 0 unchecked. I doubt that should be too difficult to implement Smiley

IMHO the current alert design doesn't make the semantics easy to understand - that it also applies to predefined policies.  In the thread on the redesign of alerts, I addressed this issue in my alert design.

Your idea sounds promising, hope COMODO team will hear it.

I tried to install new sound card driver, unchecked 'remember my answer' and was asked 2 times, see pictures below. I've been installing another application and was asked by D+ twice again. But if I chose to leave 'remember my answer' being checked I have no alerts anymore but lots of trash items in 'security policy' manager.

N.B. I always answer 'Treat this application as Installer or Updater' during the installation.

You're welcome Smiley  Unfortunately, nobody else's redesign, if I recall correctly, addresses this.

Auto-delete 'Installer' rules from policy manager list after ~1 hr.

If you're in the habit of either deleting or moving your installation programs after you're done installing, the existing 'purge' button is sufficient to delete the permanent 'Installer or Updater' entries.

It worked, thanks for heplful advice! In that case smth like hint or status bar info or ballon tip is a must for every button of the CPF interface.

I've already suggested this, but so far it has failed to materialize: the switch between "regular mode" and "installation mode" should be an item in the tray icon's right-click menu. It should not require opening the main window Angry

Another small modification in that area would be to replace the "previous mode" label (which is both uninformative and misleading) with "regular mode" or "standard mode" or "normal mode", or something at once meaningful and unambiguous. After all, when you're in regular mode, "previous mode" means installation mode... doesn't it? Huh

Edit: I forgot one detail: After installing CFP, the built-in Windows firewall should be disabled automatically. And it should be automatically re-enabled if/when CFP is uninstalled. Currently both tasks are manual (at least under Vista, I haven't tried it under XP), and disabling the Windows firewall can easily be forgotten, which negatively impacts network performance.

i don't know if somenone else asked for this but it would make comodo a better product if :
1.in the status tab or firewall tab there would be a graphical representation of the network trafic
2.in the firewall tab there would be a list with the ip / hostname of attackers/intruders

I have never had any problem installing anything. Even new video card drivers. Simply put Comodo into install mode before you do anything.

Well you can put D+ into training mode then go into installation mode and never have to answer the popups, but you need to be able to fully trust the app. your going to install if done this way. If you dont already have D+ in training mode when you start the install and start seeing the popups, you can use 'rightclick' on system tray icon and switch then also.
