Submit link on alert dialog
«

when unknown = unsafe application is detected by Def+ in latest CPFW 3.0,
it is suggested to submit it to Comodo site for analysis.
But I miss ( or not able to see ) a handy link to perform such a submitting.
It looks like I need to enter very different place in program to do it.
I would like to have such a handy link directly in Defence Plus alert dialog.

Comodo seriously needs new Alert interface. It is somewhat confusing, however, alerts contains very little informations on process what it is trying to do.
It needs to add a Detail button and provide more detail information on what process/executable is trying to do. Especially the when the process is trying to modify or create a registry key. It should be something like this,
[Process] is trying to modify a protected registry key HKLM\Software\Blah
-Detail-
Data Type: Reg_SZ
Key: HKLM\Software\Blah
Existing Data: Blah_Key
New Data: Blah_Key_Modified
[Process] is trying to create a new data in protected registry key HKLM\Software\Blah
-Detail-
Data Type: Reg_SZ
Key: HKLM\Software\Blah
New Data: Blah_Key_New
[Process] is trying to delete a data in protected registry key HKLM\Software\Blah
-Detail-
Data Type: Reg_SZ
Key: HKLM\Software\Blah
Data: Blah_Key
Perhaps this was mentioned in earlier post, but I'm hoping Comodo can update their Alert interface and add more detailed information.

if i'm not mistaken, isn't the new redesigned alert interface being implemented with TC and CMF in the update (whenever it will be)?

You can, sort of.
Create the rules appropriuate to your game server and save the config with a relevant name. CFP can store multiple configs but only one can be active at a a time, but you can easily switch between configs.

I don't know if this has been posted before but it would be nice to have an option to check the firewall policy's and the d+ policy's to see if the programs no longer exist and delete them if they don't.

Please post what you would like to see in upcoming versions of Comodo Firewall Pro here.
thanks,
jasper
Question: When will there be a new update for the firewall? With stronger security, better os integration, improved pop-up alerts, new functions like iptracking with a map tracking, gaming mode function, icon colours for block all and disabeled firewall, icon colours for defense + installation mode and normal mode, pause function for a selection like block all, programscanner for known trusted programs so a lot of save programs are allowed automatically, multiple translations onboard, check the security settings of other pc in your homenetwork with comodo firewall pro installed, malwarescanner updates, onboard skins, detailed log information etc
I am SORRY if this is too demanding and if posted this wrongly. I am also happy with the functions the firewall has now if nothing changes.

Nice sum up Triple
I think Comodo NEEDS a new, better and user friendly GUI. I mean - the GUI is the most simple part to do isn't it ?
So why not to make it more pretty > With friendly colors, easily readable letters and icons ? And BRING BACK THAT BLUE FLAMING SHIELD !!!
It's the trademark of COMODO Firewall, the generic green tick mean nothing and sickens me
Many people may say - GUI is not important, the performance is. Yes I agree - performance comes first. But the GUI is also one of the top prioritys for a good and likeble program. We're not living in Windows 95 anymore. Eye candy is needed and welcome. Listen to Apple - Killer graphics are very important !!!
The GUI should be friendly, with warm colors, but not too flashy or heavy.
It should be "beautifuly simple and simply beautiful"
Comodo's GUI is COLD and GENERIC and skins doesn't do much of a favor
Thank you all for reading. Sorry for my poor English and shouting

Hi
Up to and including 3.0.22.0349, Installation mode needs following improvements :-
1. A reminder that is visible !!! What we are getting is a brief message that is content to lurk in the background without being seen. I have put it into installation mode and been looking at this web-site, and whilst NOT touching the keyboard etc. it has given me an invisible message - the only evidence was an inconspicuous Comodo icon was added to the task bar whilst it timed out. I never did anything to take focus away from it - and even worse, it never tried to take focus, and even when there is nothing to obscure it and it has focus, it fails to maintain focus.
2. When the reminder is presented it should NOT time-out - it should wait for a decision. Sometimes I never see the reminder because it waits for me to go to the kitchen, and by the time I get back with my cup of coffee it has timed out and gone away.
3. Installation mode should be indicated in the notification tray, with a highly visible change to the shape or colour of the Comodo icon.
4. Installation mode should be cancelled upon a restart. Depending upon what has been installed, it is possible that it might require a reboot for completion, and before reboot is initiated it may fail to give opportunity to cancel installation mode, and even if I have the opportunity, in this moment of excitement with something new I may forget (especially with invisible reminders). After restart I may choose to refrain from logging in, and simply shut down for the night because it is bed time. Next morning I get on with my life, and when I start up I forget it was in installation mode, and I never see the invisible reminder message. There have been at least two "Patch Tuesdays" that have been followed by a morning in which for the first half hour I have been blissfully ignorant of the installation mode status. My mistake, but Comodo could assist here.
5. My daughter never knows when I unleash a Patch Tuesday update. Sometimes she is the first one to use the computer in the morning, and has no reason to suspect anything abnormal - not her mistake, and Comodo could really assist here.
Regards
Alan

Please add protection against "Targetted Destination Port by MULTIPLE hosts"
as well as against "suspicous host" in the "Attack Detection Settings"
Yesterday I connected to the Internet at 15:48:36.
76.120.23.36 was blocked at 4 off TCP attempts from Source Port 50515,
then 5 attempts from source port 50532, all to my destination port 10458.
These 9 attempts were at 2 second intervals.
Then at 3 or 4 minute intervals a different IP address made 3 or 4 rapid
attempts out of some other source ports to my same destination port 10458
This continued for several hours, attempted intrusions from many different IP addresses,
each using a different source address, but each aiming at my same destination port.
Some days this does not happen. Other days the attacks are more frenzied,
e.g. 15 attacks within one second, and repeating every other second.
Whenever it happens it swamps the logg, and previously with version 2.4 I got an
audible warning from the CPU Fan which kicked in as a result of 100% CPU overload !
Whenever it happens, it always targets my same destination port for that day,
but for each such day it is a different choice of which port number is targetted.
It would be nice if :-
1) a frantic attack by multiple sources could put the firewall into "Emergency Mode";
2) discontinue logging these attacks at a lower level then "Emergency Mode", so the log is not over-run.
Regards
Alan

Red and Green flames flickering around the Comodo icon are attractive eye candy, but I would prefer to see (possibly in addition) an extremely high visibility indication of any significant abnormality that might merit attention, including as a minimum :-
Network Defense in "Block All Mode";
Proactive Defense in "Installation Mode";
Either defense set to "Disabled";
Intrusion Detection TCP Flood etc.;
Intrusion Detection - DOS attack.
Intrusion Detection - MULTIPLE Hosts.
Please note that I can deal with all the above, so long as I know about them, and for that I need you to tell me.
n.b. Intrusion detection is a no brainer - I just use my Modem control software to disconnect from my ISP, and when I reconnect I get a brand new recycled dynamic IP address, and I leave behind my attackers.
It would be nice if an extra icon appeared for each abnormality to identify any combination, but the essential requirement is to show that something needs attention, even if it needs a couple of clicks to then open the GUI to see more detail.
I really want to be able to tell my daughter that everything is fine unless the Comodo Icon changes to a red colour or an exploding bomb etc., "in which case disconnect and call me."
Regards
Alan
