Is the toolbar installed automatically?  Would love to see a screenshot of it and also of the installation section if it gives you a choice.

A quick google of mywebsearch tells me its most definitely adware that is best avoided. i.e.

As far as I know (see above posts), it is optional & there is also an EULA to agree to apparently.

Minor BUG report: Vista 32bit Aero skin: when tabbing back to the main Summary tab the "X file(s) are waiting for your review" is half erased until you run your mouse over it.

Question: There is now a 999 seconds time limit on firewall alert display time. 1. Why isn't there a limit on D+ too. 2. Why does it have to be 999? I want to see an alert until I can answer it. Either increase this value to say 9999 or 99999 or include an option to show alerts indefinately until answered please.

Yes you can quote safely uninstall CMF, as Comodo Safe Surf (CSS?) uses the CMF engine and provides the same levels of Buffer Overflow protection.

Suggestion for installer - if the user electes to install Safe Surf, the installer should check for CMF and offer to uninstall. While they CAN live together, one or the other becomes redundant.

Good release Comodo! I am glad to see COMODO Memory Firewall technology is built in.

Just installed then, But I am afraid the Safe Guard toolbar isn't yet compatible with Firefox 3.0, Which is currently in RC.

I assume firefox 3.0 will be supported when it goes final?

Josh

we are developing our own version of the toolbar with UserTrust functionality also. hopefully that will be compatible with more browsers.

thanks

Looks like both Kaspersky (above) & now NOD32 (here) report the toolbar as an "AdTool".

well, its no different than google toolbar in essence. does google toolbar get reported as an adtool? if not then you have to question the security vendor's classification process.

this toolbar searches the Ask.com search engine, google toolbar searches the google search engine. additionally our toolbar provides a much needed Buffer Overflow protection whereas others don't..

O.K. thanks for the info on installation of Safesurf Toolbar, but don't think I will uninstall & reinstall since I'm not a toolbar fanatic, I use CallingID link advisor within Sandboxie for browsing the net with both CPF & CAVS latest versions running which IMHO is sufficient protection, keep up the great work though Comodo, it's greatly appreciated!

I think there should be an option to opt-out the Toolbar during installation.

Because whatever it is that CFP is blocking (denying) will eventually time-out anyway.. and that time-out period (which ever one it is) is likely be a lot shorter than 999 seconds. Typically, an Internet event would time-out within a couple of minutes (at the most).
