I had several problems with the update. At first I installed it and then Windows Live Messenger, Network and Sharing center, and enabling/disabling a connection or installing a driver would take up to 5 minutes each. I uninstalled CFP and did a system cleanup and the problem went away. I reinstalled it and this time it said "THE NETWORK FIREWALL IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY", what the hell? Anyways I ghosted my system back to hours ago and tried the update again. After 2 updater crashes(they're very frequent, I posted one crash dump sample in the bugs section) it started updating. I had already exited cfp.exe and yet the updater gave me an error 112 message about not being able to copy one of the DLLs. I ran the update again and this time it went smooth. Restarted and all was well, system tasks no longer took 5 minutes to accomplish. What a ride.

that's why i never update firewalls or antivirus.
always start with a new fresh install.
cause if it will work without any prob for most of people, it's not sure for 100% of people.
and it seems it's your case so if it's not the first time u got probs by updating comodo and u still do the same thing, it seems troubles u had by updating some products didnt teach u anything...

Greetings all,
First thanks to developers the update went smoothly.  Viva Comodo
So far so good and currently most bro and sys reporting "Ok". Glad 2 hear that.
For those who had some difficulties,  please do not panic.. (panic ?)...
I mean... guys like panic Wave will come and help, as he always does  Wink
Needless 2 say that I am grateful to all good people here who's responses are highly appreciated.
There are few new things mentioned here already. New set of modes for Defense+ & FW, which after this update were set as Safe for both. As I understand, it is correct.
I looked briefly into Help and it seems that was reflected there. Good!
At the same time is there any detailed description of all those "smaller" changes in addition to major ones announced?
Say, some may think that something wrong and reset both for Training... because previously...
No, only I can be as silly as that  Smiley

Another thing I noticed. My DNS Client was always set "Disabled".
I know the discussion here about slower Initializing process of CFP as a result.
But I was living in peace with that. Since it was not declared mandatory to Enable DNS Client I preferred it to be shut as it's recommended by many reliable security experts.
Well, after the first Restart following the update I noticed immediate "...active and running".
I performed few (3) test Reboots.  I haven't seen ...Initializing... message yet, which is good or bad? Who can tell me, please?
I mean... if it is - "by new design"  - I am happy. Otherwise I would rather report this and ask, which I did, did I?
Thanks in advance
and again  Thumb Up  Comodo Rocks My best wishes to everybody!

I can't add anything to the "My Trusted Software Vendors". Everything comes up its not a signed executable. All Previous versions worked fine. I did a clean install. XP SP2.

i found the newest CFP skin is not really neat as the CFP previous version on my vista 64 bit.. looks like a win98 skin..

is it just me or?Huh
Same here. With only change being addition of Vista x64's SP1 (and this 22.349 update). First thought that as I have couple times patched version, something got messed over time, so un-installed and installed new fresh version, no change.

Symptoms: program screen lacks vista's screen borders, "minimize-resize-close" buttons are invisible, text areas background colour don't match with screens background. This affects only the main program screen, if I open any firewall/defence+/misc link, those screens are shown almost correctly (borders are visible but text backgrounds are still messed). Firewall itself seems to be working as usuall, though.

As I said Ailef, after the messup I uninstalled CFP and did a clean install, and that screwed up even more than the upgrade - at least the firewall was working after the upgrade, but when I did the clean install it said the network firewall wasn't functioning properly. I was actually forced to try and re-upgrade the old version, which thankfully worked the 2nd time around.

BTW whatever happened to Threatcast?

It seems to me the "network firewall is not functioning properly" phenomenon has not improved in this version. I also don't read any release notes comment pertaining to this issue. Not even diagnostics in the case of the infamous message has been improved...

So, it seems there is no reason for me to upgrade from 2.4 now.

i think it's u or something in your OS, the UI is the same here on vista and xp.
or maybe u just find that u don't like the skin Smiley

no.. i like v3 skin Cheesy

as i downloaded v3 latest build CFP, i installed it to my both vista 64 and xp 32, it strange though.. CFP skin on xp just looks well.. but not on my vista 64. i don't know.. no color scheme, no minimize, maximaize, close button (they're there actually but hidden and still can be pressed with little effort Cheesy)

i satisfied with it's performance, but litlle annoyed with the skin (or color scheme ?) on my vista machine,...

u tried rebooting with defense+ in training mode?
i had some probs with vista SP1 and comodo UI that lagged as hell when i clicked on any option, but now all is fine, i turned off av and superadblocker then reboot comodo with defense in training mode,
and all worked fine with xp pro SP3.
