I guess I'm not techy enough by far, but I have a suggestion. Keep it in very very plain language (for dummies), and use a lot of similes, like: "A firewall is like a doorman". I've been private teacher and the key is imagining oneself in the shoes of someone who knows nothing. Smiley

Here is Mike (Sys Admin Manager) setup for us:

*************
Is ready, ish.
http://wiki.comodo.com/

Only registered and logged in users can edit pages, but anyone can read.
Registrations must be manually accepted or denied. Just go to login and you'll be offered the chance to request a registration.

Most things on the registration page can be easily customised. Like the number of words in the bio, or whether to ask for a bio or not, and the ToS acceptance link can be removed if a ToS isn't required.

I've gone with the default licence offered, but it can be changed if required.
I think mediawiki "supports" the Creative Commons licences, but I've not really had chance to look in to that yet.
*************

should be enough to get going and can improve as we go along...

over to you the project coordinators..

thanks

Excellent stuff, looks like we're on our way Smiley

May I suggest the first item on the agenda is to define the general layout and format for the first book, we can deal with the others after we have some general guidelines.

Next up, we need to create a rough outline for the first book. This should include chapter headings, technical detail etc.

Just want to make sure that everyone has access to the wiki.

it might be worthwhile to put the basic TOC there as the first thing to get things started.. i want to make sure we can edit/modify etc Smiley

I'm in, and editing here and there.

I'll paste in the most recent TOC I can find - from there we can continue finetuning it on the Wiki.

It'll be on the page: Book/Table_of_contents

Excellent Kander. This will give us all a starting point that we can help from..

btw: Why am i getting alert is an important section. For example a user my not know why they are getting  lets say: a network found alert... people don't usually know why they are getting alert, especially when they connect thru wireless etc.. So there will be a lot of background explaining (in very simple terms..)

look forward to it anyway Smiley

The more i think, the more i see how important this project is.

thank you all

Melih.
You need to let us upload images like screen shots that will be in the tutorial/manual. Maybe it's no panic with that, but it's needed so the layout can be seen and adjusted.
Opus Dei wanted the Comodo logo there as well. Personally I changed the theme to something named blue, so I can't see that logo anyway...
You will probably have to ask the admin to make the changes.

I didn't really like the way it's "built" in there... kind of confusing... Shocked
You'll get used to it... maybe... Cheesy
