When Network Defense is awaiting "Restore All Activities" I like the fact that the GUI shows the current level to be "Block All Mode". It would be nicer if "Block All Mode" was bright red and flashing.
When Proactive Defense is awaiting "Switch to Previous Mode" the GUI also declares the current level to be SAFE MODE, or whatever was the Previous Mode. This behavior is much worse than Network Defense. Some weeks after upgrading from 2.4 I started to look beyound the Green circle and thought I was getting the whole story when I read the security levels of the two defenses. It took a few more weeks before I realised that SAFE MODE (or whatever) meant nothing at all, and I was in the least secure "Installation Mode" when there was an innocous "Switch to Previous Mode" option available. It would be better if the current security level was shown as Installation Mode and flashing bright red, or alternatively if the message "Switch to Previous Mode" was changed to a bright red flashing "Switch Back from Installation Mode".
When either above situation applies, it would be nice if to System Status was added the warning "Some features await activation" (and perhaps the Green circle around the tick could become Amber). For many weeks after upgrading from 2.4 I never looked beyond the tick in the green circle, and the declaration that "All systems are active and running" - I never read any further - I never realised this only referred to potential capabilities, and not to the current security level settings.

Upon a system start-up it would be nice if the Firewall assessed its settings and :-
1. If Proactive Defense is at Installation Mode it should restore normal safety (unless of course the previous mode is "Disabled");
2. If Network Defense is in the "Block All Mode" it should give a warning (visual + audible).
Sometimes I use Block All before doing something that might be dangerous, and if I forget over night it would be useful next morning to have a warning that I should cancel the danger.
Sometimes I use Block All before leaving the computer - any emails can be held pending on the server until I resume connection, and anything else that might want to come on board should be held at bay until I am ready to react. Sometimes I then forget and switch off and go to bed, and the next morning my daughter is first up and after much frustration with Internet Explorer gets me to help visit her favourite web-site - then I remember and her frustration switches to a different target !!!

I'd like the firewall to have a default startup configuration, regardless of what state is was left in when it last shuit down.

I want the firewall to have a reset button to set things back to factory settings, this is important if you forget to export the configuration settings when you first installed the firewall. At least there should be a question that ask you to export the current configuration setting as backup.
The security considerations are using far too much difficult terminology, this is good for professional users but for me as a novice it should be far more easier explained. I do know threatcast solves this problem a bit but a combination of easy explanation and threatcast is more clever. At least you guys can let us choose between terminology for professional users and terminology for novice users.
The firewall should give a summarypage of blocked connections with ipadresses, 5 most programs that consumes bandwidth, the duration of the connections, etcetera. I know you could look it up in the menus of the firewall program, but a one click summary is far more clever.
okey have a nice day!

Hi all,
I have got two ideas how to improve Comodo Firewall. I'm not really eager to read all post which are here so sorry if I repeat something shich is already here.
1) At "Network Security Policy" and "Computer Security Policy" I'm missing some way how to search or at least sort files which are there. Sooner or later everyone have lots of entries there and they ordered as they were added to this list. It is painfull to find one specific aplication there.
2) Once I execute some instaler and in Comodo popup I mark it as "Update or Installer" Comodo ask me to switch to Instalation mode. Thats just fine. But why Comodo cannot check if this executable is still running before it start asking for switching back? It is really annoyng with bigger instalation to show up this message every 30 sec.
Best regards and thanks for great firewall

26 pages is too much to read for now. So, forgive me if it has been suggested before.
When making My own safe files list by browsing files it would be convenient if the explorer screen that comes upwould filter only *.exe files. And have the *.bat in the dropdown of the filetype filter box.
It willl make the process of gaterhing My own safe files quicker. It can be at least a bit of chore when lot's of programs are installed.
Also making the dialogue box bigger would help. (R)

Incremental updates tor comodo's whitelist would be better instead of having to look up all the my pending files online..

I know it's been suggested before, but it would be
really
helpful if there was a hotkey to:
Allow request
Deny request
Installation mode
Turn off defense+
Because Comodo tends to freeze some games that force themselves to the top, and you cannot alt+tab away to allow them to continue. This normally results in having to restart your computer.
It would be really easy!
Please?

I would really like it if the firewall warned me that it was in Training mode before the pc can be shut down or alternatively had a setting for a 'default' mode which the user can set to Safe mode or whatever. Ideally the firewall and D+ would default to this user-set 'default' mode on boot up. My wife forgets and leaves D+ in training mode after playing new games daily and it is worrying when it boots up in training mode.

Well, if it changed icon colour, or added something, you wouldn't need fancy stuff

My wife would not notice an icon colour change - she just closes her game and shuts the pc down. The only way to be safe would be for the firewall to boot up into, for example, safe mode when the pc boots up. So someone could change to training mode for gaming etc and then if they forget to turn back and just turn off the pc then the firewall would come on in safe mode (or whatever was preset as default) when the pc restarts.

Perhaps a baloon tip then, before shut down, and when booting.

Hi there,
I think the firewall must include some optimum tools, like memory defrag, registry restore and cleaner and stability check before installing. I had a chat with one of the comodo security experts and he told me that i should switch to classic theme within vista because it can cause some trouble. First off all I really like the aero interface and i dont really like the classic interface (although it makes the pc a bit faster) but switching to classic interface didn't solve problems.
My point is that the firewall must have some feature like compatibilty check (themes, certain systemconfigurations) before installing because i have vista and it should work with aero interface but the expert give a clue that in some circumtances some themes give trouble even the standard windows theme!!
Ok, have a nice day folks!

i am sorry to say but I think you are wrong, ley me explain:
The systemdiagnostics only check if there has been a valid installation thats it it doesn't do more. It does not check the system for any problems that might conflict with the firewall.
