What are you staring at?

if they announced cis v4 is going to be ready in feb than cis v4 will be out in feb.

I agree. I know that there are unexpected delays, but one should try to account for these delays when when proposing a release date. In other words, if a current schedule suggests that the release will be ready in Februrary, you may want to propose a March or April release date to account for any unexpected delays. And if you have no such delays, then you release the application early (users will be happy with an early release!). Having said that...I would offer this: propose a broader time of release such as "expected to be released by summer 2010." This type of statement is much less likely to build false hopes and unrealistic expectations.

It will be ready when it will be ready, and I am willing to wait without complaints (after all, this stellar program is free). However, I wish Comodo would not shoot itself in the foot by creating potentially unrealistic expectations.

Why does everyone seem to think that there will not be a February release?

There is still another week to go and we are on the second RC now.

I quite agree that it is better to wait until it is ready, but I for one have had no problems from the first beta on.

After looking at the Comodo website, I see why you are confused. The website is not very informative and is rather poorly written in my opinion. I have searched the website and the forums, and as far as I can tell, no one has offered a clear-cut answer to your question. So, I would like to ask one of the Comodo staff to define exactly which services are offered with each of the following versions of CIS:

  • Comodo Internet Secuity (Free)
  • Comodo Internet Security Plus
  • Comodo Internet Security Pro

Once you have clearly listed the features, then post them on the website!

got an answer from the staff:

Comodo Internet Security PRO offers support for the Anti-virus, Firewall, the virus removal services, pc tuneup, registry cleaning etc
Comodo Internet Security Plus only offers support for the Anti-virus, Firewall, virus removal and comodo products.

I guess they both include trustconnect but I didn't ask.

Hi guys,

I got an answer form Melih about the different versions.

CIS V4 will still be free, but you will also be able to buy various value added packages through retailers as well as through Comodo online.

I hope this clears things up.

Cheers,
Ewen :-)

Oops - 3 days late.

Not a bad forecast after all!
