I am glad that I found this thread as I thought that there must be something else wrong with my system as it took me a while to figure out that it was the defense + causing the complete lock up of my Windows 7 x64 build.
It typically happens after I have installed a game and then try and launch it. As it has been noted f that game s full screen then I get a completely black locked up screen and the only way to resolve it is to hard reset.
Even if I had previously switched to installer mode, or to state that the game is a trusted one, during installation, I still get that problem.
Each and every time that I now install a game I have to remember to manually add the games install folder as a trusted type (my own safe files - the list is just getting longer and longer and takes ages to populate). By doing that all seems well.
I still have a groan though as when a game is installed I sometimes forget to do it, until I sit and stare at a totally black locked up screen then refreshes my memory.!
I had thought that switching to clean PC mode would then negate the need to manually add those folders but that doesn't work.

Is true, installation of games with Comodo can be a harrowing experience.

I couldn't install Lord of the Rings Online with Comodo installed 'cause it would delete the temp files the Lotro DVD made just as fast as they made them. Not to mention it deleted patch exe's...all of the above done without asking, and it was unavoidable - mode changes didn't fix it, neither did turning Comodo off, and it didn't -tell- me it was doing it.

Add me to the list of the Defense+ and Win7 x64 bugs. I was trying to install Adobe Creative Suite, and immediately after starting the installation, the Windows blue ring appeared and the window for Adobe Creative Suite became non-responsive. The only way out was to fore a restart with the computer's power button. Only after turning off Defense+ could I install the software.

Did anybody check the new Comodo Firewall release? Does it solve this problem?
