How can a user find the broadcast adress of his router?

I know that it has to do with the Subnet Mask. For example for a lan that uses the range 192.168.1.0-192.168.1.255 with Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 the Broadcast adress is 192.168.1.255.

I what about a lan that uses the range 10.0.0.0-10.0.0.255, where the routers IP is 10.0.0.123 and the Subnet Mask  is 255.255.255.0?

How can we help the others to identify their broadcast adress?

Broadcast addresses are historically ".255" at the end IE.

IP: 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.253 can be assigned to computers, 254 is for something else and 255 is for broadcasting.

IP: 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.0.253 can be assigned to computers, 254 is for something else and 255 is for broadcasting.

subnet: 255.255.255.0 (All applied to this subnet)

etc.

Thanks Rotty.

After a little search I found  two Subnet Calculators.
The first is a really simple online tool http://net.apollo.lv/subnet.php
and the second is a free advanced tool of solarwinds.net Advanced Subnet Calculator
