I'm not sure it was related. I still had connectivity problems reaching the forum Upgrade message during the outage.. then again.. now the forums are up, seems a tad slow, but no connection problems (yet!). Correction: Lots of connection problems.

At least I'm not the only one. Received the "server down" message for all of 13 hours.

I'm assuming that's what you're talking about sded? In either case it was the same for port 443.

I got the same messages.  Still having outages.  Currently operates on https but not http, sometimes doesn't work with either.  Switch to all L3 DNS servers didn't fix it.  And Advanced Search no longer works, gives error message "Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator."

Still outages, although https works sometimes when http doesn't.  Comodo doesn't like the AT&T DNS servers any better than L3.  Wink

Yep still irksome. I've also tried several alternate DNS without much success either. It also, for me at least, only seems to impact Comodo as far as I can tell.

Indeed I've noticed lately when I'm checking for updates it will freeze up on me for about 10 seconds - when it's usually super fast.

It has indeed been pretty bad this weekend.

I hate to tempt fate (that's a lie, I love tempting fate - just gotta check if it exists right?).. but, it seems to be behaving itself today (both HTTP & HTTPS). Responsive & no failures.

CFP Updates: I PCAPed some failing updates as well, it's the same thing.

Nope, fate has not been tempted. All seems pukka to me, anybody else?

 Off-Topic!
OMG.. my ISP, how embarrassing. I passed Robin's information onto them & they phoned me up (I'd expressly asked them not to phone me.. you'll see why). Basically they said "..due to limitations of the service our Domain Name Servers (DNS) always return dynamic IP addresses".. Huh? Dynamic as in changing? Yes. I got them to say it twice more.. I still couldn't quite believe what I was hearing. So, I paraphrased it.. and, to my astonishment, they confirmed it. I tried to argue that there must have been some misunderstanding & that they must be talking about something else, like my IP address (which is so dynamic, I probably don't really have one), but they just wouldn't stop saying it (in a very happy & cheery way).

So, my complaint was: Your DNS is sometimes returning the wrong IP! And the reply was: No, it always returns the wrong IP! Genius. As I said, complete & utter loons. They make my head hurt & that's why I don't like them phoning me. Good tactic that. Grin

Other than whine when it fails? Not a lot really. Smiley

BTW Is your post preview box the same colour as it was before? Mine seems to have turned to the dark-side recently.

My previews the same as before.  But I think the previous explanations were incomplete, so would like to hear from Comodo on this one per Melih's message.  Smiley

Interesting fallout, BTW.  Search is now working again, but advanced search is broken and doesn't work at all-just gives error message.  Time to confess, Comodo-you made recent changes to the board that caused problems, related to outages?

Funny you should say that.. I noticed an option that I don't remember seeing before when I was banning a spammer. Also SMF.. did we have 1.1.5 previously? Then again, I'm old & my memory is the old pipe-line cache type with a 1,292 minute refresh rate.
