+1000 on this, why is this even part of the program, I hate that I have to click done to be able to move on. I always forget to do that and it drives me up the walls.

Under settings for CDC, uncheck Show Warnings.

not talking about the warnings, I am talking about having to click the button done to move on. Totally different thing and you can't turn that off.

Yep, it's not about disabling warnings.

A registry search function would be great with the option to select and delete keys! It would be near perfect with this option.

Dates! Dates! Dates!

What date is this?: 02-07-08

1) In the United States it's February 7, 2008

2) I think in the UK it's: July 2, 2008

3) In computer lingo, it could be: July 8, 2002

Would it be possible for the installer to pick up the time configuration from the Windows installation that the computer is using? I live in the US and I'm using the English version of CSC. The dates seem to be in English UK format. It's not so important, but just glancing at the date (last scan date for example), it can get confusing at times when you're used to a particular date format standard. The backup dates are also a little confusing since I'm used to the US format (mm/dd/yy).

I would like to see a better functioning wiper --- when i choose wipe free space CSC won't remember my selections and it apparently wipes my 300GB drive in 2 seconds at any number whether it is 2 or 15...very unlikely that it is doing anything at all.

I would also like to see a defragment component and maybe have it look more like system mechanic 9 where you can have 'easy' buttons to do things --- performance boost, gamers boost, etc...i know enough about computers to be dangerous with FULL CONTROL of a tool like CSC!!!... Cheesy

There is a check off box that indicates that you are using the wiper function when you are power cleaning but the wiper settings aren't remembered from one session to another so that box is currently useless unless the wiper function is fixed.

I think the new GUI is nice but Webroot's window washer and CCLeaner are way easier to understand and CSC should take some lessons from them. Roll Eyes

As well maybe adding different sorts of security wipes ex. DOD 5220.22-M (3), NSA (7), and Gutmann (35)...

hope that helps

well I can tell you that the registry cleaner needs more work, it corrupted my registry and vista could not see the dvd-rom anymore, I had to go in and manually edit the registry so that vista could reinstall the driver. I was not happy about that, sorry boys but it needs a ton more work.

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Did you use Safe Delete? Also, did you make a bug report of it? I understand if you threw CSC out, in frustration, but it's important for the devs to know about these things...

I used safe delete but I didn't know about it until a while later and by then it had already updated to the new version and all of the roll back points are gone when it updates. I found out about the DVD-rom being gone when I wanted to burn a dvd, it was not there anymore and I went to try to restore from CSC and there was nothing to restore from.

No bug report, maybe you could do that for me, I'm lazy  Grin

In future versions of CSC, I would like to see the following files moved to the "backup" folder in the program directory:

CDCBackup.xml
CPCBackup.xml

They were placed there in previous versions and this would aid in backing up the "backup" directory to a remote location.

For portables, instead of a bunch of files in a folder and you click on it.    Picture looking at the desktop
you see the icon,  you click it.  the program comes right up. Basicly packed into 1

It shouldn't be click on it and more files come up then you click on the .exe file

Just like ccleaner and a few other programs

perfect example
Code:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
click on portable
download it
now unzip it
you see some files and the main program (basicly the ccleaner icon)
drag the ccleaner.exe to the desktop
delete everything else
click on ccleaner and the program pops up not the folder with files in it (then have to click on the .exe file)

I think this is how most people would like it. based on what other people write about  portable apps.  That's the best example I can think of Smiley

Hope this helps  and you developers kick a$$.

It's hard being a crooked Admin when the files won't pass an md5checksum test.  But like any other good crooked Admin it can be done, it just takes time(and lots of it) and a few aspirins

'Select All, and Select None' for Duplicate files. I cannot tick or deselect each and every entry.

One more wish: Allow for selecting search results by holding down the shift-key and selecting a list of entries with the arrow keys, and by holding the ctrl-key and using the mouse to select a certain number of results.

I think maybe a registry compactor would be good for the systems performance.
