Comodo Internet Security will include CFP 3 CAVS 3 (A new antivirus from Comodo) CMF and ThreatCast.

I sincerely hope the different progs by Comodo will still be offered as separate installs then.
Because, if it turned out that all that remains is the choice between either using ALL of the Comodo product range or nothing at all....well, I'm honest here, I think I'd change my setup. And I guess I'm not that alone with my assumption here...

Amongst all options and other things, it was the "optional" thing, that once made Comodo great. I'm really in hope that they will continue this way.

And "if not"?, you might ask.

Well, if NOT, then ol' REBOL would have to go out 'n seek himself new fortune, but I'm really in hope this will NEVER become a necessary thing, because I don't want to change that often.

we are waiting to get threatcast and Comodo Internet Security out so that language changes will be finalised. Otherwise we have to translate and translate again...

If this is going to be an issue, then the translation system you are going to use is seriously flawed. With a well designed translation mechanism, updating already existing translation files to new version takes just a few minutes (1 to 2 hours with bigger projects and a lot of changes). Most existing translation tools allow you to compare previous and new version of translation templates and automatically modify the translation file accordingly (leave alone unchanged strings, mark changed strings for revision, delete obsolete strings and add new strings). Even a plain stupid .rc file is easy to maintain using some source control system (like SVN).

I do agree with you. However if the UI is changing including the wording. For example the way alerts will be presented will change hence the text. If it was merely additional words, then what you said would be 100% correct. However we are going to be doing substantial enough changes to the language as well.

But I do agree with you that in other circumstances what you say is correct.

I just want to stress that many people I know don't make the switch to CFP v3 (and stay with 2.4) because they don't know enough English to answer the firewall questions. They already have a hard time answering them in German because they are mostly not that tech savvy.

Answer (not to your question, but somewhat related, methinks):

SpywareTerminator's German Translation still includes a big error:

"remember" or "ask again next time" are 180° wrongly translated.
Every user will do the opposite of what he's intending to do.

Such unprofessional things shall NEVER happen with COMODO.

That is the main reason for my initial offer to translate this CPF thingie alone, on my own, just to be sure not using good software translated to the opposite...

I am a new user from Germany and I think a translation tool for version 3 would be great, I know that
version 2.4 has a German translation tool, is it better go back to this version or keep the new one ?

Welcome to the forums drafi5!

If you're somewhat good in English, and understand the alerts and other text in CFP 3, there's no reason to return to CFP 2.4. Version 3 is a lot better, but version 2.4 is still a decent firewall.
But if you're not good in English (from your post, it looks like you are good in English), you can use CFP 2.4, and wait until CFP 3 is translated into German.

Hi everybody,

I'm a new french satisfied user of Comodo's products  (I've selected CFP+ v3.0 after visiting matoussec.com) ...
But I did a tour on the French Forum and I saw that many French were choosing another Free Firewall : OnlineArmor, 'cause  there's a french version.
Is the staff of COMODO aware about that?
I apologize for my compatriots ... it's well known that we - the Frenchies - don't have any talent for foreign languages (everybody should speak french of course ! ).

So my question is : when a french version will be available ... and how can I help?

Hi Bubux,

We are all eagerly waiting for the translation tools to be made available by Comodo. Although it was promised a good while ago, I do not think we'll have them until the entire software pack is ready for release.

I'm sure the French translators will appreciate your help when we can start working on the different language files. Vive la France, by the way.
