As I read it right Diskshield is working the same as Returnil. Working in a virtualized environment.
So when I get infected and I reboot the malware is gone?

What happens with updates from applications after reboot?

That's what has to be done in the current CDS beta, but I would think COMODO Time Machine will have some nice new features that allow exceptions and much more for better usability...if CTM is going to be integrated into CIS...
