Thanks Melih!!!!!!  It's working fine here.

Heads up to Boclean 4.22 users. Uninstall that version first. The new version installs to a different folder so I doubt you can install over the old one without something messing up.

Thank You very much....This is a nice surprise   Love

Now that I have Boclean , I have 1 question...should I keep spyware terminator active on on startup , or is AV, FW and boclean enough?

Should I assume that the following post from Kevin (I ripped out part of the post for brevity) about existing customers no longer applies?

...................

EXISTING customers will be directed to a special page I'm guessing, and you'll need to download the new 4.23 from that link. Then you'll need to UNinstall the existing BOClean after shutting it down once you've GOT the download. When you go to install the 4.23 BOClean, you'll receive a popup that will ask you for your email address. Go ahead and fill THAT in. Underneath that, you'll see a checkbox if you WANT to receive any other information from COMODO. Folks will notice that it is NOT checked by default in accordance with OUR and COMODO's privacy policies. You'll need to CHECK it to "opt in" if you want to.

When the installation finishes and BOClean does its "first update" then it will automatically send in the registration to COMODO silently in the background as you grab your first update to bring you current in BOClean. In a short while, you'll receive an email from COMODO that will look like this:........

Question: What about us paid users? Will we be notified via email or do we just download the freebie? I thought Kevin mentioned something about us getting serial numbers.  Do we even need to upgrade at this point?

Uninstall your previous version before installing the new.
1. Right click on icon in the task tray.
2. "Shut down BOClean"
3. Uninstall from your Program files/BOClean menu or the "Add/Remove Programs" in Control panel.
4. Install 4.23
5. Gloat

For anyone replacing their earlier BOClean, some RULES which need to be followed as far as installing the new version, however since I have no idea of when the support center or the documentation pages are going to be there ... this is all I can offer ...

#1. If you already have a copy of any earlier BOClean on your machine, UNINSTALL it first! If you have BOClean running on the traybar, right click it, select "shut down BOClean" and that will make it go away. Should you forget to do this, the remover will complain and tell you to do so. There is no harm done if the old BOClean were to be left running, however you'll have two BOCleans running and that will waste resources. The two will not interfere with one another, but you only require one.  Smiley

#2. In order to properly install the COMODO BOClean 4.23 onto a Vista machine, you *MUST* right click on the downloaded setup programme and select "Run as administrator" to install it properly. For XP and earlier, being administrator/owner is sufficient. A reminder screen will appear when started to warn that it must be installed under the administrator/owner account but people don't read what's right in front of their face. It's NECESSARY to ensure that the kernel driver is properly loaded that the installation be done by administrator and under VISTA, it must be done under "Run AS" ...

#3. Once installed, BOClean will NOT reboot the machine - this is done in order to protect any "works in progress" on the user's machine from accidental loss. However, the kernel driver once installed MUST start at bootup and without a bootup to kick it off, it will not be present until the machine has been rebooted "at your earliest convenience." BOClean will also start automatically after a reboot, it is NOT started by the installer based upon the need for its kernel driver to be present. This is the reason for the reboot requirement rather than just starting BOClean straight away.

Finally, I'm not sure if there's updates for 4.23 being put on the COMODO server - the NSClean site is NOT updating BOClean 4.23 at all ... just 4.22. So please bear with us, I've suddenly become overloaded myself.  Sad

Hey Kevin, i thought it was impossible to load a kernel driver under vista (Exploits are the exception)??

You must have made a user-mode driver that is loaded as the Administrator account right?
