New to Comodo Backup

In Step 3 Backup Path;
I have chosen c:\comobackup\
But it keeps asking for me to
"Provide a valid backup name"
I then type another backup name c:\comobackup\backup1
It asks me again " Provide a valid backup name"
What is a valid backup name and can I use C:  as my backup path.

G'day,

In step 3, there are two tasks you have to perform.

1) Select the folder the backup file will be stored in
2) Tell Backup what filename the archive will be stored under.

To complete the second task, provide a filename in the bottom right hand corner of the backup window. The currently selected drive/folder combination should already be there - just add a file name.

Please note, if you are doing a DRIVE backup (as opposed to a FILE backup), you cannot store the archive file on the drive you are backing up (i.e. if you are doing a drive backup of drive C:, then the archive MUST be stored on another drive.

one lst question.
How can I save folder to cd/dvd.
I cant find the folders I created in explorer and there is no disc directory.

Version 2.0 does not have support for backup directly to CD/DVD.
We will add this feature in a further release.

Hi.  I"m also new to the program.  I have an external drive connected to my CPU and I want to make a backup of the entire c:\ and store the backup on the external drive.  The program though doesn't acknowledge the external drive when I get to step 3 (backup destination); it only shows in the lower window the flash drive I have for ReadyBoost (should have stated I'm running Windows 7 32-bit).  What am I doing wrong?

What file system do the partition(s) of external hard drive have?

D: DVD Drive
E: Kingston Flash Drive used for ReadyBoost
F, G, H, I: 4 removable drives for memory cards (e.g., SD card)
J: external Maxtor drive, connected by USB, one partition formatted NTFS, 120 GB, 114 GB free
K: external drive, one partition, formatted NTFS, 320 GB, 264 GB free

If you go to restore tab, is the external hard disk visible?

Yes, all the drives are visible if I switch to Restore.  BTW, I tried running the program as Administrator and that made no difference.

You can type the path manually in the "Save as" edit box, something like "K:\backup.cbu"

We are investigating this issue of missing drive letters.
It will be fixed in the next release (v2.2)

Well, I could specify a backup drive and directory and the program started but showed the "performing backup operation" screen for 20 minutes and nothing on the progress bar at all, so I aborted the operation.  Is this normal?  I'm only backing up about 55 GB of a new 1TB c: drive.
