I'm not sure if this has been suggested, but adding a box below the selection of the source/destination of a backup where you can manually type the address would really help, I don't mind much the tree selection option, but some times it's just easier to type the address then go through all the folders and sub-folders to get to what you want to backup. For example I want to backup from a network location but not a mapped drive (\\server\admin-share$\folder\sub-folder) and how it's setup right now this is not possible or it would take for ever to go though the network to find the server and then admin shares are not visible normally so no help there. Version 1.0.4.337 that I'm using for this backup does have this option, so I will continue to use it until a version has Manual Source/Destination selection, incremental backup and editing scheduled backup settings available.

Thanks for a great product, but V2.X lost many good features that 1.X had. Cry

Hello,
I would like to suggest an improvement for Comodo Backup for FTP usage.
I'm using an FTP server with a port 3321 (regular port is 21).
Please, can you add a port selecting for writing on a server which not use the regular 21?

Thank you.

Maybe this request was already done.

I want to thank Comodo for providing excellent software, you are great!

But I must confess the change between CB 1.0.4.337 and CB 2.x was a bit "shocking". I used to run manual incremental backups with versioning, and I never had to do a complete restoration from a backup, so adding the capability to uncompress the backup file to pick just a few files would be great.

Also, the folders I used to be able to backup in seconds now take several minutes to run...
So my wishlist is:

1.- Allow incremental backups.
2.- Allow to be able to access files inside the backup (maybe by allowing to uncompress de backup file).
3.- Be able to enqueue my backups tasks, as it was possible with 1.0.4.337 (I used to select the task, click the play button, select next task... and it ran all the tasks in the queue).

The ability to VERIFY the backup.

Many BU programs can write to media (like software RAID5 NAS) but when the backup is verified - it FAILS as CORRUPT (while other file types can work just fine on said media).

I would also SECOND the request for offline media restore. It makes restoring MUCH easier than having to install Windows FIRST, then install Comodo Backup, THEN doing a restore that may take hours after the initial installation of Windows and Comodo BU is complete. For me, my laptop would take 6 hours to do all of that.

Please bring back external device burning capability i.e. CD / DVD burning. Very useful for backup out data but no other PC / ftp service available. Please consider.

Thank you.

After installing,  Please make "step 3" simpler.  It took me 10 minutes to find a way to do it  (Invalid file kept popping up).  (SAVING IT  SOMEWHERE ON THE HARDDRIVE)

I end up creating a file name at where I wanted to save it before running " comodo backup".  After using it the first time, it was easier.

P.S.  While I figured out how to do it,  more inexperienced people may not figure this out.  I'm just suggesting retooling "step 3"  so  inexperienced people won't get frustrated for the first time using it
(IF SAVING IT SOMEWHERE ON THE HARDDRIVE)

P.S.S. ( I personally don't mind spending hours and/or days figuring out something or learning something new, but a lot of people probably won't share my views)

P.S.S.S  It might help, if a developer for this install or reinstall comodo backup AND have a person that never used it before (friend, relative, son, or daughter to run it)!!!!!!!   I bet the new person using it would get stuck on "step 3"  <----SAVING IT SOMEWHERE ON THE HARDDRIVE

It's hard being a crooked Admin when the files won't pass an md5checksum test.  But like any other good crooked Admin it can be done, it just takes time(and lots of it) and a few aspirins

With Comodo Backup version 1.x, I was able to fully examine each backup job profile after it was created and edit each profile if I so desired. That is, I could check to see what folders and files were configured to be backed up, the destination of the backup, the backup schedule, etc.

However, with version 2.x of Comodo Backup, I can check and change the time of backup but I cannot verify, let alone change, what files and folders are set to be backed up and the destination drive. On my wishlist for version 2.x is the ability to fully examine each backup job profile settings and change these settings at will.

In addition, the ability to perform incremental backups would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
